I'm not sure if it's been posted yet or whether it belongs in this section, but here's the address;

http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2008/nov/21/guns-n-roses-chinese-democracy

It's a bit nagative in parts, and kind of funny when it discribes TWAT, but I kind of like the last paragraph;

...Chuck Klosterman might have been wrong. Chinese Democracy is clearly not the greatest rock album ever made, but nor is it an absolute and utter failure. The irony is, that for all the lavishing of money and time and technology, it's saved by something as old fashioned as a good tune.

if the album was anything less than great it would be getting savaged by all and sundry, if the worst that people can say is that it took too long, has too many ideas going on, etc then i'll take that, cos gn'r always get some stick. they all come back to the point that the songs sound good, which is kinda the point.

Quote
There Was a Time features brass, a choir, tribal drumming, cinematic strings, a hip-hop breakbeat, Tomorrow Never Knows-ish backwards tapes, a feedback-laden guitar solo and Rose's familiar wail. It should be noted that I am here describing only the first 20 seconds. After that, the arrangement gets a bit silly and overwrought

The Guardian with their big words and even bigger words

They can never give the reader a straight answer, although they are a good paper, and one of the few left in the UK that I would bother calling a newspaper as opposed to pornography
