Maybe this is just the way Axl wants it - little to no promotion. After a decade of people challenging him to release an album, maybe he's had enough and has decided to just put it out and let the music speak for itself. If people buy it and like it, good. If they don't, fuck them. They can fuck off and buy something from the New Age section.

If that's his approach to this album after being out of the limelight for 16/17 years, then I'm afraid he, and this album, is fucked.

How do we know he even wants to be in the limelight again? He's a millionaire, he's set for life, he can more or less do what he wants. We all want him to be a media attraction again, and for Guns to be huge again... maybe Axl doesn't (which is fair enough). Maybe he just wants to continue living the semi-reclusive life he is now, touring as and when he wants, releasing music if, when and how he wants.

Don't be naive.  He's a fucking rock star. They all crave the limelight - apart from that miserable git Kurt Cobain.

If Axl truly wanted to do the "rock star" thing he could be doing it now. He could've been doing it for the last ten years. Instead he stayed at home making music and doing small tours when the mood took him.

I'll be proved right over the course of the coming fortnight. If I'm wrong I'll be more than happy to admit it. But I'm not.

he's an aquarious, anything cliche or traditional that is expected of him, he will do the opposite. i admire him for that. you want a rock star, go listen to nickleback.

also, i wouldn't classify the tour in 2006 "small".

That 2006 tour was nothing but a Greatest Hits tour imo. I mean they played 9 fucking songs off AFD,and only 3 off CD which they were supposed to be promoting!!!

They did the same thing in 2001 and 2002. Why play all the songs on CD live when its still unclear what the track list is and plus playing a bunch of songs that nobody knows about can kinda get boring to the fans as they then don't have many songs to connect to the band with.
