In the September 2008 issue of Playboy magazine Stephen Davis (author of the unauthorized biography Watch You Bleed: The Saga of Guns N' Roses) looks at the band's romantic, rebellious infancy, as the Gunners struggled to get signed and survive the rock-and-roll jungle.

Here we present an exclusive audiovisual tour through GNR's wild youth with behind the scenes photos and audio clips from the award-winning book Reckless Road: Guns N' Roses and the Making of Appetite for Destruction. The book (available as a traditional book and in an innovative multimedia version) is built around photographs and audio clips taken by Marc Canter, a friend of Slash's since childhood. Canter documented Slash's rise through L.A.'s rock underground, from his days shredding in a high school garage band to conquering the world with Guns N' Roses. Together with journalist and film director Jason Porath, Canter created Reckless Road as a multimedia scrapbook of the glory days of GNR.

Got that it is awesome read, I want whole book it is well written and very interesting , maybe not much new stuff but still very good read

The book is already out(the one with photos) it is called "Reckless Road" it's more album than a book and quality is awesome , the book from which is the article about GN'R isn't out but phots are not from that book.

I highly recommend "Reckless Road" by far the best book about G'n'R I have ever received.  thumbsup thumbsup

But is that book specifically about pre-AfD days?  I'm more interested how the band came to be #1 and how it fell apart from every angle.

yeah it is pre-AFD and making of AFD but it is great mainly becasue of that awesome pictures and the quality of the book is top notch
