I think this justifies a seperate thread, since we are so close, although it is all going to be filled with theories. I have heard the old leaks but have stayed away from hearing anything from the official album, and I hope to not see any of that information here, but I am curious as to what people think will happen.

When the countdown gets to 0 I would like to see an explosion on my screen, and then have a really awesome website load-up, that explains who is currently a part of the band, and a letter or even better a video from Axl thanking the fans and maybe have some personal thoughts from him about the making of the album and his thoughts about each song on Chinese Democracy. What was the inspiration for each song, etc. A note from each member concerning their feelings about the album and the wait would be cool too.

Whatever happens, I want it to be BIG and really, really, memorable. We have waited for over a month watching this clock. Please make it worth it.

The album means a tremendous amount to me, the album would be enough if that was all there was, but I think they changed the website to just the clock, as a sign that something besides the album is coming. I am one of those people that feel owed some explanation from Axl and the band, for following this record and supporting it, and GNR, for over 20 years.

I hope teo see Axl come out into the public view again, and start calling some people out over all the controversies, and confusion surrounding this album. Once it's out it's too late for someone to try and legally stop it's release, so I would like to see Axl get in the ring and start venting about all the stuff he has been dealing with to get this album released. He said it was an overwhelming amount of work, and that for legal reasons the best way to move forward was to say nothing. Well I hope to see him open up a bit, and stir up a little controversy. It used to be fun to see him in the news calling people, and magazines out, and then see the same magazines have to cover stories about him because they could not deny the controversy he generates got peoples attention and sold magazines. It was great.

the album is coming in parts of the world in a few hours and you already feel owed something?

you pay your money, you get your copy of the album and you can listen to it at will. if they tour, you can buy a ticket and sing-a-long to your favourites.

i've said it for years, none of these people, axl especially, owes you anything.

  oh yes it is, allready spend near 200 Euros on CD but since my orders probably won't be delivered till next week tomorrow morning at 9:30 I'll be spending another 20.

2NaFish - I've felt owed something because I rode this roller coaster of getting my hopes up, due to information from the band leading me to believe the album was coming for the last 8 years. I have an emotional investment in this album, and have been promoting it to anyone who would listen for years, and have been continually ridiculed when the proposed dates have come and gone, with no realease and little to no news from the band as too why.

I realize you are a moderator, I respect that, and you must care alot about this band too, but in the real world, your comments about being owed something are just your opinion. You feel one way, I feel another. Both are valid, just different. I repect your opinion, but disagree with it.

Do you really not hope for more than the album? I think it's a natural for people to be happy and thankful they are getting something they want, and to still want more.

if axl/gn'r decide to never release another song then thats their decision. you may feel you are owed something, but, opinions aside, the fact is you are owed nothing. you've had thousands of hours of pleasure from their music and for any of us to be so presumptuous as to effectively demand more is simply rude.

i'm sure you and i will get more following the release (still, i'm sure we've both been sure of lots of stuff concerning gn'r over the years) but if we don't its not because of deserving it or otherwise. i hope you enjoy the album.
