I liked that Slash solo in 91... but maybe just because it wasn't the same one I've heard like 4,301 times. =)

BTW...  about the vocals, have a listen to the Bostom Promo from 2002.  Theres short clips of the songs CD, Maddy, and The Blues thrown in with some older song clips.  And the vocals on the CD, Maddy, and Blues are amazing.

So maybe I need to rethink how I've been worrying about the vocals.  "TWAT" seems a lot like "IRS" as far as they don't sound like how they'll sound on the record...there's this "just trying this out" sound to them.

But "Better" sounded really close.  So close it scared me.  Because his voice sounded TIRED.  Gasping for breath, I don't know what it is.  Like I've heard this "voice" in other songs in the back catalog, but this sounded like he was sick or something...  does anyone know what I'm talking about?  It's not about how the vocals start out sounding, but how each word ends.  Gasping or wheezing kind of sound.

But there's nothing like that in the Boston promo.  It's just right on.  If you get tired of these demos, try to listen to that Boston promo where the new songs are.  You'll go crazy wanting to hear the rest of those new songs.

Here's to kicking vocals to come... hopefully in March.

I hope. =/

That's the reason why I like his voice so much!!!!!!!
But tell me... have you tried singing Better... TWAT or IRS.... you'll se that there are some very powerfull lyrics... and very quick tempo... not really much time for breathing.... its like his voice fights with mucis.... Its great....![/b]

Yeah... out of the 3, it is... and that's what scared me.  Because it sounds like he's gasping for breath and he's tired.
