"Better" [4:56]
« on: February 24, 2006, 07:36:53 AM »
At 2:32 only a mechanical sound can be heard, the song clearly looks superficially edited by whomever made the Demo disc at the studio. At 2:32 there is a snippet of song lasting till 3:18, where then again the same mechanical editing placemark can be heard, whereupon "Better" resumes. I believe this 45 second clip is from a different song; probably the intro of some other track of which we know nothing of.

The intro and ending found on the majority of the "Better" clips are, in my opinion, anti-piracy devices used to tarnish the work in respect to the real version. Notice even how the riff is terribly out of place when it begins while Rose is midway through a case.

The "Better" demo, I think, is more of a sampling of two or three different songs, along with misc. material, to give a feel for the album. I think we should really be looking at this 5-minute demo the closest as I believe it pertains most to the upcoming album.

"There Was A Time" appears to be cleanly recorded to the Demo disc, therefore I consider it as only a Demo; meaning, not to be released as album material, and to takes its place shortly beside songs akin to "Crash Diet". "IRS" is of the same case.

Speaking of the demo "Better", minus the anti-piracy techniques and misc. material, sounds very solid and highly polished. My personal comments on the performance can only be of high praise, as this short prelude to the album gives me the idea that Rose will have success mimicking that of Appetite. However, be ready and expect to hear a very different sound than that of old-skool GNR. It is clear Rose wants to drive his music in a different direction altogether; it's a smart move. If he wants to rock the music industry once again he'll have to come out with a type of sound no one has heard of before.

Shut up Stevie- I think it is the real song, afterall, Axl said people are gonna go "This doesnt sound like Axl, this doesnt sound like GNR" and in that MTV thing the other day it was described as having bits of "uncharacteristic heaviness"...i think its good!  :p

Shut up fucking asshole, I like the new demos, this is something I've been waiting for more than ten years and I'll always support Axl, so don't come here talking shit, if you don't like new material then don't fucking listen it.

I think that you can be right... for this time. I have been thinking about the same as you, it's just demo and what you say can be close to reality.

Dude, he is posting his opinion. Don't act like a 10-year old... ;)

As a matter of fact I somehow guess (and hope) the middle part is edited in from another song. I don't think it fits in. Not that it is bad music, but it doesn't fit in with the rest of the song if you ask me...

Whatever it is, its NOT the complete, finished, best version that will be on album.
I think stevies right that the finished song would not be leaked, mainly because of piracy issues.

Wasn't Stevie Boy the person that lied about the 3CD ChiDem? Russian Intrigue, Chinese Democracy and German Warfare?

I heard that from a different source, but that's bullshit of course, but it's not his fault.

But that would be cool though... 3 albums...  :retard:

no way btw

I tried cutting out the annoying parts with an MP3 editor for "Better". The parts that go, "no one ever told me that I could be better" (I think that's how it goes). And much to my surprise, when playing back the track, the 2 divisions ran seamlessly together. If you don't believe me try it for yourself. I can only guess why GNR inserted those repeating lines, and that is for piracy issues.

And pay no mind to the ones who bad-mouth me. They must be under the age of 14, and either want to accumulate posts or find it delightful to act like a retard. Saying "shut-up Stevie-Boy!" to a well thought-out, uncontroversial, and opionated post is a true sign of a pre-teen.

as much as I think most of what Stevie says is lies there are two things I'll say on this thread. 1. I bet everyone who posted "shut up stevie fucking boy" and all that garbage didn't even read what he said, they just don't like Stevie.  2. What he says makes sense, the song is flowing good then it jumps around all over the place and then it sets back into the original groove again.

then why is TWAT reviewed as complete? the only thing about TWAT I realy dislike....makes me cringe is the chorus.....so that might be against piracy too? doesnt realy make sense........ we won't know unless the album is out....and then we still don't know cause it might be edited out cause of Bucket left.....

I'm having no success whatsoever at finding anything other than the 2 minutes or less versions of "Better." Can anyone help me out here? I'd love to know what everyone's going on about regarding the new leaks. Thanks

i like the song better. the intro reminds me a little of sweet child o mine because it has that circus like tune going on. i hope that this album actually gets released. and that whatever songs dont get on te album get put onto like a b-sides and rarities cd
