Slightly more meaty tone - considering it has humbuckers.

Very easy access to the higher frets and the fretboard is extremely slick on the Flying V.

Depends what you want from a guitar - strat offers more blues kind of music, Flying V offers more metal style.

Roll roll roll yer joint, twist it doon the end, take a puff that's enough pass it tae a friend.

Completely Wrong, Flying V IS The Model Of The Guitar, NOT The Sound, Fretboard, Style Or Whatever. Flying V Is Associated With Metal Though, If You Need a New Sound, Put In Some New Pickups or Buy a new amp or a footpedal. Then You can Make Anything Sound Like Anything. :D

The Body of The Guitar Doesnt Change The Sound, The Pickups Do. The Body Of The Guitar is To Be Comftable To Play,(I Don't Know How U Can Play A Flying V Comftable Though). Pickups and the amp make the Sound. :finger:

sorry but the wood in the guitar makes the sound... I'm not saying that pickups dont affect your sound......but wood affect your sound the most

First - you need to learn how to quote people properly.

Second - you need to learn what makes the overall tone of a guitar.

I never said it was the shape of the guitar that affects the tone - its the build and materials used, and over all mass of the body.

A strat has a very light body and build, so the tone carries little sustain giving you a perfect tone for blues music (even with a humbucker, the strat will still provide little sustain unless you overpower it with distortion which will murder the tone of the guitar that makes it unique)

Flying V (depending on the model of the guitar though) has more mass and meat in it. Will provide greater sustain and heavier distortion.

Try it in a guitar shop if you don't believe me.

All the positives will never out weigh the BIG downfall in the flying V....its almost impossible to play one sitting down.

Stage guitar only, me thinks..

You can buy clips Sixx...things that clip onto the bottom and give it a les paul style curve.

You can remove it for standing.

If you are sat in an upright position, totally straight back supporting itself ( not slumped in a chair like you usually do!), then the V is great. you just stick one 'wing (?)' between your legs and the other over your leg. Its great for sitting down with. The problem is that nobody sits in the proper position. Try it, it does work, just doesnt look very cool.

Didn't know about the add on i must admit, ill google it.

Just as a side issue, i bought that slash doll yesterday! it really looks fucking cool. £15 in virgin if anyone wants on.
