More than Just Demos
« on: March 05, 2006, 05:18:34 PM »
I have noticed in Better, that its more than just a demo, it has been worked on alot.
At around 4:18 you can tell that Axl is doing the background vocals, as well as lead vocals, showing that its been rerecorded and joined in the studio.
Maybe it was one of the final demos.
What do you people think?

from what i can tell it seems to be a final cut before drums + mixing is done. though i'm not entirely sure, that's my guess.

Demos can have backing vocals. But yes better is futher a long than the other demos. Better is more like a rough cut of the song.

I remember Tommy once saying that Axl often took rough mixes home with him at the end of the week, or something like that.  I always thought these "demos" were just that - rough mixes of the CD recording sessions made for Axl and somehow leaked.  Unfortunately, I cannot recall where Tommy said this.  But it would make sense.

If anyone remembers that interview, please post it here.  There is a slight chance that it was Richard or Dizzy, but I am pretty sure it was Tommy.
