Perhaps, but in today's day and age, if you sell 100,000+ in your first week, you probably won't sustain it. People either will download individual songs from iTunes or other legal stores, or they'll just download it on illegal file sharing networks. It's difficult to sustain sales like that nowadays unfortunately.

If it's marketed right and hyped enough it will sell over 500,000 the first week - it may even set a record and sell more than 50 Cents first album.  The key will be the marketing and promotion.  The label has to do some crazy research to figure out exactly what the market potential is and how much money to throw at it.  I don't think there is a historic formula for this albums' release - it truly has taken on a life of its own and just how big will the interest from the general public be???  I wouldn't want to have that analysts job.  Tell ya this much.  $13-$15 mil to make - oh they are gonna throw some cash at it for sure.  They NEED it to sell a lot.  Look at the Greatets Hits album and VR.  If VR can sell a couple mil with a sh**y lead singer and s shell of GNR's original sound then the new GNR should post well over that number.  

Now for the multi-million dollar question - literally.  Can the original line-up set aside their differences in the past to reunite.  If they could, this album would sell 3 x's as many copies and would score everyone involved a ton of money.  That reunion would probably surpass almost if not every previous reunion of a rock band in history.
