Plus Geffen Is Probably More Than Fucking Pissed Off About The Album, Costing Something Like $13,000,000, The Last Thing There Gonna Do Is Put More Money Into The Most Expensive Album Never Made.

The Sex Pistols, Ramones, Radiohead All Poped Out Of Fucking Nowhere And Now Are All Probably The Most Influential Bands EVER. Conspiracy Theories Can Keep Going On For as Long As They Want Because Most Of Them Never Get Answered, And Make People Take Notice Of Them. true, some bands don't need promotion... when pearl jam released versus, they specifically decided to NOT do any promotion at all for the album, and their "non-promotion" was their promotion, and they sold 950,000 copies in the first week, setting a record at the time...  however, when limp bizkit released the unquetionable truth pt. 1 last year, fred durst thought he'd be sweet and decided to not do any promotion or tour for the album and they sold like 4 copies, and now they're done as a band...  i, for one, think g'n'r is obviously in the versus section...  and yeah, the leaks were awesome promotion in and of themselves...

this is the CD that Axl has mastered and he wants to show the world what he can do.

I dont think the leaks were the promotion cos only real fans of GNR know them and have heard them.

I think the leaks were a way to find out what people thought of the new stuff.

The promotion my guess will be a single before the realease of the cd and of course the tour of europe

No body knows whats going on with teh promotion, the leaks may of been made by Axl, more than likely not. Whichever way their still has to be a promotion for this, maybe the festivals were promotion because now people like Kerrang, who sponsor download have been announcing that Guns n Roses are back at every opotunity they get.

what ever it is no-one knows but it would be virtual suicide if they just release it, although there is enough attention, no-one is going to take the risk of letting a 13 million dollar album flop because of under promotion.

And what you say Fenderjaguar213, about some bands dont need promotion, may be true.... That is, if someone dig up John Lennon and Gerge Harrison, put 'em back to life, and made a Beatles reunion CD.

But the problem is that the "Average Joe" actually think that Gn'R was a 80's thing, and they dont exist anymore.

Sure it may see obscene for the Die Hard Gn'R fan, but thats a fact.
And some of you may say: "Fuck the average hiphop joe! We dont need 'em! I dont want 'em to buy the album! The Chinese Democracy cd is dedicated to the real fans!"

also, the Sex Pistols were advertised in many stores (for instance the store 'Sex' and a couple others) in the US and Britain BEFORE the release of Nevermind the Bollocks.

you gotta add into account that the artist only gets a percentage of that cuz they gotta pay producers, graphics artists, n all those ppl
