In the interview with Batio, topics include Batio's "Hands Without Shadows" CD and "Speed Kills 2"instructional DVD as well as the Thirsty Whale nightclub, Tommy Holland, Joey Cetner, Nitro, Jim Gillette, Lita Ford, Bobby Rock, Gene Simmons, Rudy Sarzo, and Craig Goldy. John 5 in GNR? wow, what a suggestion. Im not sure 5 is cut from the same thread. He's currently tied up with Rob Zombie. I met 5 last summer at the Zombie show in Cincinnati.. He and M. Manson had a falling out (who doesn't have a falling out w/ Manson)...

Come to think of it, Axl has been recruiting a lot of mid/late-90's goth/industrial people...

There is a pretty big connection with G&R / NIN / APC, and since Twiggy Ramirez has been in NIN, you could throw Marilyn Manson in that group.. So John 5 wouldn't be that far off down the line.

He is decent though...

Mickael sounds like buckethead, he's perfect

it'd be like Zakk Wylde being in GN'R, they're both like...monsters, and they're famous in their own terms, and it'd be silly to have them in there. John 5 is fairly unknown, like Buckethead was, so it's 'cooler'. plus, John 5 is much more...human...than Bucket.

niether did buckethead. GnR is not about fitting in its about reviving rock. Im all for michael angelo hes cool.

why not have hope theyve done it before....but they will be reviving a more led zeplinny/pink floyd/queen type rock rather than lets say a stones or aerosmithy version. If not them im still waiting for another gnr to come around. The world needs a gnr right now.

MICHAEL:i'm aware of this. and uh, i have an exclusive agent, her name is Deb Nickish (?) and she's aware of it too. and all i can say is, nothing concrete has happened. have there been talks? well...haha. i don't know if anything is gonna happen. you never know with Axl Rose.

INTERVIEWER: haha, yea he's a mystery.

MICHAEL: well, yea. it's not really something i can really comment, but right now, it's no. i've got shows booked all the way through November, but if it did happen, i'd cancel all those shows. *laughs*

Buckethead and batio are simalar in some ways. They Both Awesome Guitarists, and Bucket wears a bucket on his head, and batio wears a wig on his head.

If Axl gets Batio, all the shredhaters can start browsing their old threads and recycle the arguments they wrongfully used to discredit Buckethead, to make a valid point against Batio. Batio is the kind of guitarplayer who gives all other players, who can add speed as a dimension to their repetoire, a bad name. His playing has very little to do with music and very much with gymnastics. Unlike Buckethead who is one of the truly great (both in playing and in composing) in the instrumental genre.

His (Batio's) approach to making music is similar to a person who aspires to be a writer and decides to do so by learning the dictionary by hard, without ever knowing about proper grammar (analogy for structure, phrasing, dynamics, rhythm and sense of melody). Sure, he knows all the words (chops) and he's proud to use as many of them as possible. But without the deeper understanding of the classes of words, their inflections, and their functions and relations in the sentence... it holds no water.
