Brian May would fill the void perfectly, and i would have to say he kicks both Slash' and Bucketheads ass, his solo on CITR.. Beautiful..  :D

Why do you say that? Nobody thought Izzy would come back But in 93 when Gilby got hurt who filled in. IZZY. So never say never. As far as slash learning the new material HA HA give me a break!!!!!!!!! It Would take Slash 2 sessions at the most to learn the new material I've heard. Slash is a blues guitarist and bucket was a shredder. How would bucket give it a more bluesy feel?
