Book Description

Both new and old incarnations of the explosive rock band Guns N’ Roses are discussed in this compelling biography. Featuring exclusive interviews with key players on their personal and musical histories and supplemental color photographs, this is a comprehensive look at where the band started, the reasons behind their infamous split in 1994, and what the original members are doing now. This fully revised edition contains information on the highly anticipated Summer 2005 release of Chinese Democracy, Axl’s first release in 10 years, as well as details of ex-lead guitarist Slash and ex-bass player Duff’s hot new band, Velvet Revolver.

QUESTION:

Hey Paul!

Firstly, you had mentioned to me that you were going to GNRs concert this year. When you write your next biography, what kind of questions are you planning on asking the band?

Moreover, do you think you will be able to sit down with Axl and ask some really detailed questions about what's been going on for the past few years and what's to come for him and/or the band?

Lastly, when you interviewed Steve Adler, what was his opinion on GNR?
Did he have anything positive to say? Or does his last comments on the band still stand?

You'll prolly need a crow bar to get to get Axl to say anything besides "soon". So, I hope you get to get a great story, that would totally rock!

Very good luck to you!

Best wishes,
Stephanie

P.S. After speaking with you for the first time I introduced you to the  forum http://www.chinesedemocracy.com/viewtopic.php?t=11912

Question:

What is you're opinion on the leaks?

What is you're opinion on the persistant rumours that Velvet Revolver are splitting up or at at least that Slash is leaving?

I don't remember specifics since I read the book, but there were many inaccuracies in the book.  Out of all the books I read about GNR, I felt this one was one of the best.   But it needs A LOT of edit work.

QUESTION:

do you view the current incarnation of GN'R as the 'real' Guns N' Roses, or do you believe that the band(s) from 1985 to 1993 is the true GN'R?

and as girlincarwithgnr says, good luck with Axl!

QUESTION:
Is axl's voice on the demos in any way tweaked, or is that his current voice?  I'm asking that because his voice did not sound nearly as good on the 2002 tour.

To your knowledge, is there any prospects for a new lead guitarist to fill bucketheads parts or is the band planning on dropping those parts and having robin or richard make up thier own.  The reason I am asking this is becuase Buckethead is a very skilled and original guitarist and the parts that he has recorded will be somewhat difficult to duplicate unless buckethead himself takes part in it.

yes, no, maybe, no .. BH makes GnR look like a circus act and no guitarist is worth trashing the GnR image imo that Axl is fighting to protect .. Axl and Izzy are the original GnR members :)

Hey Paul.  Love your book.  It's essential reading for Guns fans.
QUESTION:
What was the most surprising thing you've learned in your research about Axl's life from 1994 to now?

Thanks
