In the latest issue of Classic Rock we list The 100 Greatest British Rock Albums Ever, voted for by a panel of experts including rock-star singers and musicians, Djs, promoters and other industry movers and shakers. Plus some of the stars talk you through their personal favourites. How many of the Top 100 do you have?

Elsewhere in the new Classic Rock Joe Elliott talks about the making of the phenomenon that was Hysteria, and members of Marillion look back at the recording of their classic Misplaced Childhood. You can also read about Jethro Tull, Porcupine Tree, Suzi Quatro, check out the biggest rock reviews section on the planet, and check out the free DVD featuring Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Queen, Def Leppard, Motörhead, Metallica and more.

All this and much, much more in the April issue of Classic Rock, on sale now.

no mention of Guns N' Roses

You're half right but ehre's avery interesting bit of info. I don't know if it's like this anywhere else but over ehre for msot magazines the month issues are realesed a month early, stupid I know. But anyway this means we egt April issue in March etc.. Well I got the one you spoke off with the 100 greatest british albums. It had an articel on Axl Rose palying Downlaod and there was amention of him playing Chinese Democracy at Club Stereo in HY. Also at the back of the magazine it had a bit on what will be in the magazine next month. It's gonna have shitloads of Guns N' Roses stuff apparently. So this guy on this blog may be tellign the truth. thext issue is otu April 5 and I will probaly get it.

I cant see it coming in April, unless i turn on my TV now and see a CD advert, then its too soon. Lots of promo needed for this album. Summer release at the soonest IMO.

So, why is it that no one else thinks that there is gonna be tons of hype and advertising leading up to the release?  I'll bet it gets at least a couple months of intense buildup...

Are you saying there hasn't been any of this?

Are you saying there has been some of this? apart from the small amount gained from the leaks and festivals, no-one knows that anything is happening.

agreed. no one knows ANYTHIng about the leaks even (where I am) unless it was I who told them. If anything concrete was happening, EVERYONE would be talking about it. so far - other than online - i don't see hype anywhere.

Well there has, and it hasn't cost Interscope/Geffen/Sanctuary a dime. They have gotten so much free publicity from magazines such as NME and Kerrang about the new leaked tracks that a lot of people actually know that the Guns N Roses are still going now.

Yes but magazines like Kerrang mean that people into that music will be aware of GNR. Not only that, in comparison to new age shitty music, not many people are into rock/ metal.... and not all these people buy kerrang ect... so i'd hardly call it promo. Guns appeals to all ages, sexes and music lovers so for it to be promoted to the masses then the leaks and a few BS articles will just not do!

Yeah but without magazines like Kerrang and NME informing people about Guns then even less people would know. Also, you say "not many people are into rock/metal". I don't think Axl's key demographic is people that are into Rap/Hip-Hop.
