I haven't read anyone mentioning him as a possible 3rd guitar, but IMO he's most likely of all the previous band members, but I still doubt any them will rejoin anytime soon,.

remember, he and axl parted peacefully, and axl's first appearence live in years was at an gilby show.

Not  gonna happen, he is doing that rock star 2 band with nikki sixx. The band is called supernova

I really like Gilby Clarke, but his Style is not fit with GNR V2. old members are more traditional in style case. I wonder if you get what I mean.

going to go see Gilby the day before my birthday. Gonne get fucking reeking and go have a chat with the Gilbmeister. I'm gonna say

I then plan to be dragged out the venue by two burley bouncers and get a kicking for my drunken efforts.

Gilby sued GN'R in 1996 for misrepresentation of his name and likeness.  The case was settled out of court.

my guess was he wanted to be more in the spotlight than izzy was and axl couldnt handle two guitarists fighting for spotlight time
