I'm flying in for one of the shows from Arizona.  Looking for a cheap hotel room, prolly for 2 nights.  Do I want to fly into LaGuardia, JFK, or Newark?

jfk is right off the vanwick prkwy which is a short distance to the midtown tunnel... that leads into the city, there is a toll.  or you could go over the queens burrough bridge which is free but out of the way a bit

Well I dont intend to rent a car, I'm scrapping enough together as it is to get the tickets, plane tickets, and hotel rooms.  Does any of the airports have like a train or subway that will take me to the area of the venue?

You have a better chance taking the Laguardia? Its in Ny, NY and not far from the venue at all. Im taking a bus

Having tickets would probably be a good idea before you say you are going for sure.
