Godsmack IV

Picked up the new Godsmack album today. Ive listened to it about 4 times already. Its some real in your face hard rock. Most of the songs are just as strong or stronger than the single. I dont know if its anybody's cup of tea but I like the hell out of it. I havent liked a new album this much in probably 10 years. Anybody else pick it up or what do you think of them?

GODSMACK's upcoming North American tour will be a three-band package, featuring an as-yet-undisclosed co-headliner (rumored to be ROB ZOMBIE) and an opening act, to be announced at a later date. Speaking to Cutter of Appleton, Wisconsin's Razor 94.7 radio station on Monday, April 24, GODSMACK drummer Shannon Larkin said of the band's upcoming touring plans, "We're going to Canada [in June], then we're gonna hit Alaska, then we're gonna move over to Japan, come back around the world, do Mexico, South America… Unfortunately, it's not gonna be until September that we come to America, but on the positive tip, when we do come to America, it will be our biggest show we've ever brought out, and we have a wonderful, wonderful co-headliner. And guess who it is? I can't tell you. I know, it's such a teaser. I guess the deal's 99 percent done, not a hundred, so… But it's gonna happen. I've talked to the man in question even, so I can say we're bringing a kick-ass show â€" two kick-ass bands plus an opening band â€" and like I said, we're not sparing any account on the people's expense this time â€" it's gonna be full-blown pyro, video, midgets… just kidding, no midgets. Yeah, my cousin lives in Columbus and is a huge Godsmack fan, and said he's gonna go next time they come there. He said he'd take me along, so I'll probably be seeing them too. If it's Rob Zombie that'd be sweet, I'd love to see him again.

Kick ass. I have no clue who is opening for them in Toronto on June 13,but I doubt it will be Zombie. That will most likely happen in the USA leg of the tour that's planned for September.
I am getting my tix tomorrow morning though. Looking forward to it. After the show I'll post some pics that I took

Heard an interview with Sully yesterday on a local Dallas radio station talking about the new album. He said he was tired of albums with maybe 2 or 3 good songs with the rest being nothing more than just filler. He wanted everybody to be able and listen to it all the way through without skipping tracks. They recorded about 40 songs total and picked the best 11 and made the album. If you let the last song play a little past the 12 minute mark there is a hidden song thats not listed. This is by far their best album IMHO. Its already becoming one of my favorite albums of all time.

If you liked he previews then chances are you'll like the whole thing. I haven't seen it as it comes out on Tuesday but I have the Pantera home videos and they are fucking kick ass stuff.

I gt fucking ripped man. I went to buy two tickets for a Godsmack show as the guy at the ticketmaster told me they'd be a certain price,but when they went on sale they were more expensive. I was fuckin $9 short

I was never really into them until i saw them with metallica ... they were actually pretty good live.  A lot more musically talented than i thought ie (sully playing drums)
