the reason why I ask is that I would like to know what kinda setting you use 'cos I really cant get the sound I want from it

I also use.. epi zakk sig. guitar.. and then I plug that boss gt-6 to line 6 spider I 50w or computer..

I'll try and prevent myself going on a rant about modelling technology..

If that costed you Ã¢â€š¬600 you should have saved up twice as much and bought a decent amp.

If you want effects, use a Boss setup, that isn't all this "digital" crap where it's programs on the board that make your sound.

Yeh, they can sound good, but the distortion will never be as sweet as the almighty valve amp.

Yeah... but, EQ setting are never the same for my distortion and my clean settings. To me, it makes a hell of a lot more sense to play smooth and clean and run a good pedal through it instead of just using the distortion on my "Hot Rod" amp. If you are trying to sound exactly the same on every song I'd say just go through the amp but I'd rather vary it from time to time.

You do realise there is a Gain, Bass, Treble, Mid, Presence controls on the amp yes? You vary those and you can vary your sound big time.

What's your point? Proper amps have 2 channels man. One for clean with a seperate equaliser, and one for distortion with a seperate channel.

Or ones that have one channel, you'd have 2 heads for clean and distortion.

Either way, you aren't using 1 channel with shared equaliser. That was my point.

Easy..... I guess fender doesn't make proper amps

i have a jcm 800 (head + 2 cabs, the old one), but i use a multi-fx also. I used before pedals, but for me, its not really working (in live situation), and i dont hear some difference between pedals and mfx. i had before a korg ax1500 and now a digitech gnx-3000, but you MUST have to tweak it! any multifx sucks at factory-settings, but you can tweak em... try to make the multifx the same sound clean, same as direct in the amp. if you have the same sound, you can put the distortion-modes in..

If u want kickass sound out of your guitar, you should buy a Fender Hotrod Deluxe Amp, and combine it with a Digitech RP6

I got both, and I have never ever complained about the sound when I record or play live.
I have got really god feedback from people when I play also.

The Digitech board is rar this days, because it was made in the middle of the 90's. Its easy to use and you can make a lots cool sounds with it.

The Fender is massiv and with out micing it up, I have played for 200-300 peolpes without problem with the loudness!

If ya want to buy stuff, this is what I recomed H A R D!

if I want kickass sound I will buy marshall JCM800 and dunlop mxr zw-44 od pedal and then I'm good to go
