You do realise there is a Gain, Bass, Treble, Mid, Presence controls on the amp yes? You vary those and you can vary your sound big time.

Easy.....  I guess fender doesn't make proper amps

i have a jcm 800 (head + 2 cabs, the old one), but i use a multi-fx also. I used before pedals, but for me, its not really working (in live situation), and i dont hear some difference between pedals and mfx. i had before a korg ax1500 and now a digitech gnx-3000, but you MUST have to tweak it! any multifx sucks at factory-settings, but you can tweak em... try to make the multifx the same sound clean, same as direct in the amp. if you have the same sound, you can put the distortion-modes in..

If u want kickass sound out of your guitar, you should buy a Fender Hotrod Deluxe Amp, and combine it with a Digitech RP6

I got both, and I have never ever complained about the sound when I record or play live.
I have got really god feedback from people when I play also.

The Digitech board is rar this days, because it was made in the middle of the 90's. Its easy  to use and you can make a lots cool sounds with it.

The Fender is massiv and with out micing it up, I have played for 200-300 peolpes without problem with the loudness!

If ya want to buy stuff, this is what I recomed H A R D!
