[ROCK IN RIO 5] No new songs broadcasted on TV
« on: May 28, 2006, 03:42:39 PM »
I posted this last night:

Quote
Rumor has it that Axl didn't want to play too many new songs because he knew they would be broadcasted and he didn't want that to happen I guess.

And today I saw the DVD from the TV broadcast on eBay...

Hmmmmm...

Already on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Guns-N-Roses-Live-Rock-In-Rio-Lisboa-27-05-2006-DVD_W0QQitemZ9141838789QQcategoryZ617QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

It confirms the new songs were NOT aired on TV (at least on Sic), which would confirm what I said last night. I heard Axl asked TV stations not to air the new songs.

Too bad fans who watched TV just saw a greatest hits show though.

My guess is that the new material is actually coming out sooner than we think and he wants to keep the surprise for those who don't know the new tracks yet (a lot of people didn't download the leaks and live tracks on the internet and never heard the new songs). Just my 2 cents.

dvd recording details for this dvdr:

"the filesize is 2,76Gb (recorded in SP+ (150 minutes mode) in my PHILLIPS standalone DVD recorder), because i knew the show was a bit longer than 120 Minutes, but then the tv channel has cut the chinese democracy songs, and if i knew that, i could have record it in SP mode"

God here we go again guys obviously nothings confirmed yet but it's probably inevitable that Bumblefoot will re-record Buckethead's material. It'll be a case of them trying to find the time to do it with all the touring schedules ahead!! However we all know by now that nothing's simple in GNR land  :(

They played IRS, The Blues and Better, that's it. It was broadcasted on the internet, but NOT on TV.

Limulus, what you posted confirms what I said right? That's too bad... :(

But the webcast wasn't that bad. People like to complain, but I think it's a helluva lot better than nothing.

Information coming from an ebay seller:

"hi

guns n' roses didn't allow the tv channel to broadcast the chinese democracy songs until the album is released (at least the host of the show has said that they will broadcast the full show sometime in the future, i guess we'll just have to wait for chinese democracy first)

this dvd has everything that the tv channel broadcast yesterday.

cheers"
