GN'R review in kerrang

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, please move it if it is but i thought i'd share this piece of shit with you all. Taken from page 49 of issue 1112 of kerrang. Its part of a review of download.

"Axl rose and others (0) taking a gargantuan but admirably systematic 2 hour and 25 minute shit on the memory of one of the greatest rock 'n' roll bands of all time. I begins punctually. The echoing, opening riff of 'welcome to the jungle' is welcomed by rabid cheers and bellows like 'where the fuck is slash?' and 'you fat bastard'. It's doubtful that many here really believe this high budget cabaret is really guns ' roses. And it's hard to be offended by pub-band run-throughs of 'live and let die' and 'knocking on heavens door'. But the band fucking about with low-volume porn-music jams between every song simultaneously overextends and robs this set of any momentum. And when Axl rose abruptly disappears for a full 10 mintues after 'sweet chold o' mine' citing 'technical difficulties' - a gap filled with some guitar-shop squaking from bumblefoot-it becomes clear this isn't even a real band. The moment where a hired hand threatens to leave the stage if another bottle of piss is launched onstage is hilarious. Only bettered by the heckler whos tells him to 'fuck off then'. The appearance of original 6-stringer Izzy stradlin and ex-skid row belter Sebastian Bach provides some curious distraction. But for all the money-flaunting pyros and insincere backslapping it's impossible not to recall just how monstrously cool the real guns n' roese must have been in their prime. They weren't the clusterfuck of professional musicians and 1 commercially-minded opportunist onstage right now, because this isn't even rock 'n' roll. It's commercially-driven geriatric nostalgia, and judging by the queues of traffic already leaving the site, it can't end a moment too soon. (AM)"

Who the fuck does this asshole think he is? He gave them a fucking 0 outa 5, biggest cunt ever. No doubt hes just trying to be mentioned in a song like prick wall. Anyone know his name?

i've been reading a lot of these negative reviews of GNR shows.....and i'm sick of it....i think they are just jealous/can't accept the fact that GNR IS BACK WITH A BANG.....or they must really like VR  who sounds like millie small singing my boy lollipop .....

I totally agree with you. I bought the Classic Rock magazine a few months ago and read that Jon Bon Jovi was slagging Axl. Rose off. In it he said 'He comes back after being away years and all the attentions on him. But what about me? Ive been here all the time and dont get recognition.' All i can say to him is FUCK YOU!! Guns n Roses are back so you better watch your ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OR he is just calling it as he sees it.  He obviously likes the original GnR and would most likely be thrillend if the real GnR WAS back with a bang.  But you can't say GnR is back with a bang when this incarnation was never there to begin with.  You see... for something is back, it would have had to have been there in the first place, and then gone away.  

The band that was there and then went away has quite simply not come back.

i've read alot of reviews slating the download performance, and to be honest this guy sums up the feelings of alot of people who were at that festival.

people who come on these forums, gnr's loyal fans, were not the ones axl needed to impress. i think download was a big big deal and as far as most people are concerned, he blew it.

i hope the british public aren't as narrorow minded as most of the crowd were at download, and concentrate on how good the music is, because i think the only thig alot of people are going to remember is him walking off stage.
