Why does IRS suck live?

Is it just me or does IRS suck when it is played live? I mean I was expecting this song to blow the roof off of arenas but it's almost like watching a jam session or something. I think the guitars need to be turned way way up and that bass needs to rumble the arena. It's just falling short in my opinion. What do you guys think?

Yea I kinda agree on that, classic song it's really great but live it doesn't seem to blow your mind like the demo does.

Hardly a classic before its been released?!!  :)

Think Better, Madagascar and The Blues are the strongest songs both musically and lyrically to come out of the leaks. Great stuff.

its been leaked. and thery are playing that exact leak live... so it techincally is the same as being released...and it is a classic

Yep, I agree. Live performances are mostly lacking vocally I think. Axl's gotten better at it now, but he used to try to pull off the ten-second scream at earlier shows and couldn't hold it and his voice would fade out, it was kind of sad to listen to. Now he's found a better way of fading out deliberately and adding a "Whoa-yeah-ee-eye, yeah" at the end, which makes it sound a lot better. But it's still pretty weak live. Better isn't always so great, either.

The leaks kick ass but they don't sound the same live. TWAT on the 12th was pretty weak too IMO. I don't care as long as I have the demos though, they're awesome.

The song is awesome, but they always mess up the mix live...

The one on rir... It was inaudible...

Bass was way too high

you could hear shit from Axl and the guitars

sound guy really needs to retire  :angry:

im going to stick up for this song live

all the bootlegs ive seen and heard i reckon axl gives it his best

his voice has evolved to fit in with these new songs and IRS especially in novarock, rio and download festival bootlegs i have he fucking does it so well and the solos and everything sounds awesome

the lyrics, i love some of the lyrics, besides the repeat of the chorus 100000 times, there are some really cool lyrics

nah buddy, the live version i saw had another guitar part after the 1st verse and different guitar on the intro.  but evry thing else was the same.
