Madagascar is the more advanced version of oklahoma godmamn it i know im right.

But how do you know this?  It wouldn't really make too much sense either.  It does sound like a song of isolation, which i could see why he would name it Madagascar then.  I really don't see how it would be a tribute to the bombings.

Because that is what Axl told Betsy (Axlette) when she visited him during the week of Halloween 1999.  Back when the original gnronline forum existed, Betsy spoke of her trip, which included comments about a song called "Madagascar".  At that time, the title "Madagascar" had never been bandied around.  She was the first person to mention that song.  Numerous people doubted her, and claimed GN'R would never write a song named "Madagascar".  Unfortunately, Betsy did not post her photos.  Thus, she got flamed by scores of people for being a "liar".  Turns out she was telling the truth all along.
