I guess Axl didnt want to be remembered for only appetite for destruction,
he always believed that afd was only the record that he made to gain an
audience. Then after he could show his "better" songs such as dont cry or
november rain. Its not to say that he hated the record, I think it was he was worried that afterwards, nobody would take him seriously...

yea i know but ur not getting my point... what im asking everyone if he wants to BURY appetite soo badly...why is it that in his current setlist majority of the songs are all from Appetite for the Destruction. i mean if he really wanted to buy AFD then he would at least play UYI songs in his setlist.. i guess he doesnt want to bury AFD anymore..cuz as of right now...its kinda like hes living off of AFD and not UYI or the future CD. Im not bashing im just saying.

He said he wanted to bury Appetite like fifteen years ago in refrence to relaesing You Your Illusion which was a really different album then Appetite and still an album of equal if not greater success so he already has burried Appetite
IT IS REALLY HAPPENING!

Whenever someone does something new, they always hope the new thing buries the older work (or in other words, they hope the new thing is much better than previous things they've done).

Well UYI didn't have as much record sales as AFD, but thats only because AFD just appeals to almost anyone who liked rock back then, UYI was probably the best album, but it didn't reach every type of person who listened to rock.

as a whole no, but remember that most people probably didnt want to buy 2 albums. Infact, theres an interview where Duff or Axl said that friends can buy one of the albums, then rip the other so they only pay for one. You'll probably find that is a large reason. Also:

You could be mine
November rain
Civil war
Bad Obsession
Locomotive
Coma
Dead Horse
Estranged
Pretty tied up
Breakdown
Dont cry
Double Talkin Jive

something like that could have easily done as good as AFD, but then we'd loose other favourites. I think AFD got buried, but also appreciated.

Yeah i was refering to sales only.

The band wanted to do a box collection of 4 discs.

Geffern said no way "commecial suciude"

but you can release them on two seperate discs.......... ;)

If i had to choose between AFD and UYI i would choose UYI. Coma and Estranged are the best songs ever written and they're Axl's best vocals. The vocal for the last two minutes of Coma is the greatest ever.

I'd have Back off Bitch instead of Bad Obsession.

Yeah, you're missing a STACK of songs that I love from UYI 1 and 2. I think the way they released it was probably the best way.
