I agree with you fully on this one.  He needs to let AFD fade away, maybe play 1 or 2 songs from it, and play some newer stuff.  Right now, he's just letting AFD hold him up.  This tour should be called the AFD Rehash European Tour

UYI was not as successful as AFD

as a whole no, but remember that most people probably didnt want to buy 2 albums. Infact, theres an interview where Duff or Axl said that friends can buy one of the albums, then rip the other so they only pay for one. You'll probably find that is a large reason. Also:

You could be mine
November rain
Civil war
Bad Obsession
Locomotive
Coma
Dead Horse
Estranged
Pretty tied up
Breakdown
Dont cry
Double Talkin Jive

something like that could have easily done as good as AFD, but then we'd loose other favourites. I think AFD got buried, but also appreciated.

there are alot of things that vary in this but on the topic of success UYI was more successful than AFD in terms of album sales for each album technically no UYI I and UYI II did not individually sell as much as AFD but there is more than just totall sales life(sales speed for one could count) Secondly for being a bands only 2nd real album and waiting 4 years then making it a double album on same day, which no one had ever attempted such a bold thing in the music industry and for that UYI was far more succcessful and was the zenith of their career and touring. Last time i checked AFD's world wide sales were 25million some say closer to 30. And UYI I and II were at roughly 15million each for a combined 30million or so. So its up to you to determine whats more successful
But i agree that people will sort of always remember GNR for AFD the fast pace in your face rock but for me its both. You know mabye Axl cant create the perfect album AKA(Chinese Democracy) because he already has its called AFD

Use Your Illusion is better than AFD. Appetite fitted that exact time period, when it was released. But The Illusion was a bigger era..saying. Axl and the band shows more of their talents on it..piano..better vocals etc. I love AFD, but technicaly UYI's better...In many ways

Basically what he means by bury is he didn't want to be known for one album and one style. He wanted people to see all sides of his creativity. If that meant UYI albums outselling AFD than that's what he wanted to do.

If i had to choose between AFD and UYI i would choose UYI. Coma and Estranged are the best songs ever written and they're Axl's best vocals. The vocal for the last two minutes of Coma is the greatest ever.

I'd have Back off Bitch instead of Bad Obsession.

dead horse and back off bitch --> out
Don't Damn Me and KOHD --> in
