Vegas Pre-Sale not Looking Strong
« on: August 19, 2006, 12:10:38 AM »
I have my doubts, with GNR on the verge of a major US tour and with California in the bank, I think many are holding out on paying $150 a pop for Vegas. I can still get presale general admission no problem.  This wasn't the case in 01 when I went.  I don't think its going to hurt GNR too much, I just think most are holding out for the US tour.  Besides, Axl pretty much confirmed no new shit will be heard aside from the leaks until the tour progresses.  Who knows, I'm probably off base...

There's no doubt its more personal in a small venue, so it was in Vegas and NY for me, but the point is that the presale is not on fire like it used to be because everyone knows the US tour is coming.

When Vegas 01 went on sale there was no US tour announcement or alternative CA show to go to, therefore everyone bought tickets at $150 a pop.  This time is different, and slower as a result.  I'm not arguing that a small venue is or isn't better.

With the taxes and fees it comes up to about $170 per ticket.....Anyway, the less people the better the chances for us to get to the fence :)....so, you coming or not? do you ever check your messages?

tool had one hell of a selling for the joint in vegas; it's surprising that gnr isn't getting that kind of attention although the tickets WILL definitely sell

Maybe the general public in America hasn't heard the news, Guns N' Roses officially kick ass now. No more raspless voice... no more jerseys... everything that pissed off fans of old is practically gone... except for Finck, I don't understand it, but you all seem to have a vendetta against him...

the european tour didn't get much publicity in north america, and i think alot of people have bad memories of the last tour.  but once the momentum picks up here (read: CD release date anounced) things should be fine, word just needs to spread about the new band

nice post.exactly how I feel. I think, besides the hardcore fans here, most people really don't care to much for GNR at the moment...  it would help them alot if they would release something new...

why would it. I support Axl in many ways but he thinks the american public is all forgiving and forgetting and were not. Logic would only have it be this way until he does something otherwise to prove This band is worth 150 dollars otherwise most people would be pissed off to pay that much for what they heard was a cover band and OMG no Slash??? Our beloved mediocre tophat Slash? Funny thing is that most people only know the lead singers name of Tool.
What this means to me is more than i know you believe."

I'd have no problem paying $150 for a club show. I just have no way into the U.S.
