I am sorry to be so dense but I've been thinking about this for awhile and it always bothered me why the hell does GN'R need 8 musicians? Now that Finck and Fortus take on alot more responsibility, isn't Bumblefoot sorta redundant? And do they reall need 2 keyboard players out there considering this is supposedly a rock band?
From a media point of view, it gives the band's critics more ground to make fun of the band, calling them a "circus" and what not. From a business perspective, it is probably pretty bad revenue-wise when you have to pay so many people fat paychecks.

the reason theyve called it a circus before was because of Buckethead, and the way Axl used to look, and the way Finck used to look

he does most of the stuff teddy was doing back in the day,

he does the drum loops-Madagascar, OMG, Better, TWAT, all the sound effects, programing etc. Just cos theres a keyboard infront of him doesnt mean hes playing it. Its usually a controler keyboard for drum loops etc, wierd sounds for the new songs.


he plays the string parts when dizzy is playing his piano etc

Ok, I am not a big RHCP fan but when to see them the other week. During the entire show I kept wondering how can 4 (FOUR) musicians put on a show at least as good (if not better) than most new GN'R shows?
The same goes for other massive bands these days like Coldplay and U2.....
Or wait, maybe those are NOT rock bands......maybe they are what you call mainstream pop-rock bands......And GN'R is the still a badass ROCK band? Give me a break. With, so many piano songs (The Blues, Nov Rain, Madagascar) and a gayass-rock song like IRS, GN'R is any more rock&roll? Not to mention how Axl's dancing style has gone so much more pop.
