The USA leg - sales
« on: September 10, 2006, 05:32:32 PM »
pretty much every Euro show sold out - so anyone know/guess/hear how sales are going for the few dates that are out?

I expect sales to pick up later in the tour - when a certain compact disc sees the light!

Im not from the US so i havent a clue!

anyone in the know? :paranoid:

infact, you can even discuss how it might sale later. Otherwise this thread is pretty lame.

Now it is a little less lame. :paranoid: maybe not. :retard:  :o

fuck everyone who calls this thread lame, including you mooney! :finger:  it's a great thread :D

the usa tour tickets so far are not selling all that well.
I'm afraid that once Axl sees the half emty/half full (depending if you are an optimist/pessimist) arenas, he might run back in to his hole.

here's another thing that came into my mind....
we all knew that at certain point the publisher will force Axl to release it.
what if that moment has come? maybe that's why Axl said the album will come this year so far in advance?
Finck... you fag!  :( why did you have to go...?

The simple problem is - to most, GNR are some old band who died and sang SCOM. Thats about it. Of course, the inland invision will get good press coverage, right?

i guess its all in the promo! are there any TV promo's like the 02 boston one?

AGHH! So much anger! So quick to insult!

Anyway, yeh. If CD was out, ticket sales would sky rocket. But I dont know what Axl is up to, who does?

none that I've heard of, but it's probably getting radio promotion, due to KROQ being one of the organizers of the inland invasion.
the other shows are minor arenas, and I dont think it would be worth major TV promotion.
TV ads are expencivein comparation to how much the shows could earn.

this is only a glorified warmup tour so far. I guess the real tour will start in october, but I'm starting to get that weird feeling I get, and I guess it's safe to make another one of my predictions.

the next 2 weeks(end of sept) we should get some real tour dates, and some sort of anouncement, if everything is to go as planned.

if the album is to be released at the end of nov., and single at the end of oct., then a scheudle should already be made by the start of october. you dont do that kind of things randomly. you plan them in advance, and you have to know at least 2 weeks in advance when you are going to do something, so I guess this is the last "borring" week for us.

Starting sept. 16th we'll always have some sort of news/event to look forward to.

First there will be the tourdates, then the 1st single rumors, then the 1st single anouncement/release, then more tour, promotion, interviews, album release.

This is the end of the life (on the net) as we know it.

I don't think they are gonna do anygood before CD comes out, and then when CD comes out the first couple months aren't gonna be any better, but after a while everything will come into place.

hardly at all, the avrg. person here doesnt even know gnr is back let alone that they toured europe so unless some huge promotion is on they way its fruitless.

sometimes axl's ego really pisses me off, and this is one of those times.

if GnR did small club gigs (i'm talking well respected theaters and small venues in large and culturally important cities) they could possibly start a bit more of a buzz.  Playing to half empty arenas in Sacramento can only be a detriment to what they're trying to do.

i was at the tacoma, wa show...their first actual stop (after the vancouver riot) in 2002, and it was a joke.  it was in this huge dome, with barely 7,000 people there.

when is axl gonna realize that the majority of music fans are not interested in a band that hasn't made new music in a decade, ESPECIALLY when 4/5 of the band they had come to love are no longer there.

I love the new lineup and I know you freaks do too, but your average rock fan doesn't know who the hell robin finck of brain is.  jeezum crow.
