The Nightrain is poised to steamroll North America. Most of the pieces are in place.
1. They are coming off a successful, lucrative European Tour.
2. The Pendulum of music taste, after years of pop bubblegun and hip hop, is ready to swing towards hard rock once again.
3. Nostalgia for the 1980s and that type of music is ripe as 1980s teens and preteens are becoming successful adults with money to spend; i.e old enough to pay the high ticket prices, but still young enough to go to actual concerts.
4. Axl's voice, appearance, attitute, appears to have greatly improved since 2002. He looks healthier, sounds far better, and appears to be much more into entertaining and having fun. Instead of seeing a me-against-the-world recluse, we are seeing a reluctant socialite who has shown glimpses of actually caring what his fans think.
5. The naysayers are coming out in droves and howling louder than ever in opposition of the new GNR. Their nonbelieve is characterized by the same old arguments: Slash et al not in the band, Axl's new hair, Axl can't sing, new members can't play. What is worth mentioning, is that before the dawn of every revolution, the reactionaries squeal the loudest before they are silenced.
