Of course. It is will be the biggest threat to civilization.

If you look at the distribution of every major city in the world, they are near or on some sort of body of water. When sea levels rise, it will drastically effect the way we live.

There are also the natural environmental consequences: loss of habitat, species diversity, tidal effects etc.

However, this planet has been in this situation before throughout geological history, but never while it has been host to humans. The planet will stabilise, but it is the human environment which will suffer.

That'll teach us a lesson or two.

whether its our fault or whether we can stop it or not doesn't really matter. the world is getting hotter for whatever reason and it is going to cause tons of problems, it will fuck us up, but hopefully not in our lifetimes
