Did anyone ever find out if Checkmate was a real tune or not?  I actually liked the 16 seconds that I heard of that track and was hoping it be Gnr

Not to be a dick but how the hell are we suppose to know? Nobody knows the track listing. I doubt Axl will be doing any covers on the new album.

I read a post a while back about someone writing to Merc about it.  Just wanted to see if there was an outcome or a clear answer for once.

I think it's an exceptional cover... and it shows how AXL can improve any song he sings... even better than its original singer an writer... amazing...
