Canadian seal hunt
« on: October 19, 2006, 07:24:44 PM »
someone posted a bulletin on myspace...wow.

so in Canada, it's legal to do this *CAUTION:  some of these pics are real graphic and shit...just a heads up.*:

fuck you, dude :finger:

yea, that's a 14 or so day old baby seal.

how'd you like me to club your brains out, you fuckin animal?

if that doesn't err...move you or something...you should probably seek help.

and like i said earlier...according to Canada, you can do this.  perfectly legal as soon as the baby seal is no longer a "baby" (after 14 days when it sheds it's fuzzy white fur).  fucked up, eh?

wanna do something?  check this out:

Yeah, lets waste our time getting angry at Canucks for clubbing seals, cause ya know, there isn't more important things to deal with in this world?

Don't even get me started on all the bullshit fucked up in America.  Us Canadians might club seals, who the fuck cares?

if you're gonna kill an animal, at least make it kinda funny

ironically enough, this happened to another guy in Canada in 1983 and he was charged with animal cruelty

True, but to some people, animal cruelty affects them more emotionally than others. Say for example, you see people jumping out of the twin towers, and you cry, it may not have the same effect on an animal lover....

But I agree with you, there are alot more important issues going on out there in our society today, though I do feel bad for the seals.
they are the manliest thing about manliness.

we have to club them, if we shoot them you wreck the fur. :D   anyways, the seal hunt brings $16.5 million dollars to the impoverished northern regions of canada. its heavily regulated so as not to overhunt (the population of seals is steady at 5 million).  anyways, it started in 1723.

the point is, to alot of people hunting sucks, but if you remove the income source for aboriginals and northern towns then tax dollars will have to make up the difference, and thats not very realistic.

and if you are going to read anti seal hunting websites, then read the other side too

What's more important than life? I can't wait for you to club these animals to extinction, Africans to hunt their unique animals to extinction, the Japanese to hunt whales to extinction, China to eat dogs to extinction, and see what the repercussions are... the planet will be a very different place once they're gone... :finger:

Afterall, I don't think the reason we were put on this planet was to slaughter defenceless animals, for absolute bullshit reasons, we're not in the dark ages anymore, christ, even back then we had enough common-sense to know when to stop. :finger:

they aren't even close to extiction.  the population of seals is seady at 5 millions, and not decreasing.

plus, studies say that clubbing is just as humane as the way we kill cows and pigs, so unless you're a vegetarian then you're a hypocrite.

the problem is that seals are too cute, thats why people care.  the eel has been hunted almost to extinction in N.A. for the japanese food market, but they're ugly so no one cares

as a side note, i do agree with alot of what you said

believe it or not, animals are capable of reproduction too, and the number of seals killed every year in canada is closely monitored so as not to damage the population, it might seem brutal and everything to us, but so's every slaughterhouse and abbatoir in the world, the hakapik looks like a fairly horrible way to kill an animal, but...

"Further, studies by American veterinary experts on the use of the Hakapik on the seal hunt carried out on Pribilof Islands of Alaska had shown that it is an efficient tool designed to kill the animal quickly and humanely. A report by the Canadian Medical Veterinary Association in September 2002 corroborated this claim"

and the seals aren't bled out until they're already dead, it's not really any less humane than normal farming, people are just falling into the cute puppy syndrome problem again where because the animal is cute they think it somehow has more of a right to live than a big ugly farm animal.
