I love Guns n' Roses - what's your favorite memory?
« on: October 31, 2006, 05:40:58 PM »
Thanks for the post, Del!  Guns n' Roses 2006!!

I remember running around my house playing air-guitar to the records.  When I was about 16-years-old I started a Guns cover band called 'Capital Punishment;' I got Axl's voice down.  As a matter of fact, at the Recher Theatre, this year, we ripped out Welcome to the Jungle!  It was an incredible feeling; I know how Axl must feel.

Once I figure it out, I will upload it for you guys to check out.

For years, we'd drink, watch the videos and salute our favorite fuckin' rock n' roll band - and finally, as I prayed, it's going to happen -- more new music from GUNS N' ROSES.

You'd think I'd be pissed, afterall, I was at the Philadelphia show -- I'm not.  It was an exciting night and I got my money back -- so, no sweat.

My favorite cover is "Ain't it Fun" - it gives me chills; I would love to hear it LIVE.  One day, if we are allowed, we will record our cover of Welcome to the Jungle.

Cheers mates!

Only time I was on stage was when some kids from my class (2 Guitarists, 1 Bass and a drummer) searched a singer to perform ISE, I was like, this is gonna be hillarious, so I did the song, not saying that I nailed it, it was BAD, but I had the time of my life

First memory would be hearing Welcome to the Jungle, the intro.  I was young, watching VH1's greatest rock albums and saw them as nubmer one I think, and they played the music video.  I was like "woah, crazy!"

Best memory, would be seeing them Live.

My best memory -

Hearing the B-flat that altered minds, incited riots, sold millions of copies for the first time LIVE in Budapest, after 3 hours of delay... It was... just great...

August 10th, 1988, was in a horrible fucking car accident in late 87 and it was my first show and even though I could barely walk, my father took me to see them and Aerosmith.  They opened up with It's so Easy and for an arena show I have never seen such a crude band play in front of such a huge audience.  It was almost like, "Get these guys out of the Arena and throw them in a dive bar where they belong".

After the third song it hit me.  I was watching Guns N Roses.  That feeling was something I have never felt again.  Yeah, in 92 I had something like it and same with 2002, but that first time being a little kid was just more than I could handle.  It sort of fucked with me.

Hearing those songs live for the first time... man that thrilled me...
