guns n roses and rage against the machine
« on: November 02, 2006, 10:00:39 PM »
has anyone else besides me noticed the similarities between gnr and rage against the machine?
1. broke up over creative differences while band was still very popular
2.both had incidents at music shows:rage bassist tim commerford, protesting limp bizkits win in the rafters (can you blame him?)
3. all of the other members minus the lead singer forms very popular bands
4. no one heard anything about axl for awhile, no one has heard of la rocha for awhile
5. last album was a cover album followed by a live album
6. had guitar wizards compiling some of the most memorable solos
okay maybe this had no point but i am just trying to keep my mind off of thinking about chinese democracy........... :o

yea... but rage is political domination of rock n' roll, and gnr is musically more talented
~ No thank you. I'll proceed directly to the intravenous injection of hard drugs please.~

it's hard to tell if someone is more or less talented than the other, but you can't claim tom morello is less talented than slash, although his talent might show itself in a different way. Same goes for all the other members.

While GNR perfected hard rock, what was already around, RATM created a whole new genre. (and still remains unequaled). how about that?

That and both DeLarocha and Axl are insane studio perfectionists...

Although I want to point out that Faith No More pretty much created the Rap-Metal genre since about 1983. Although RATM were just as innovative and werent inspired by FNM in the least...
