Weeeeeell it's a GN'R forum so I don't know how you'd think that question has never been asked before. That wolf in your avatar was once my desktop background. Though in the picture I saw it's lovely head was buried between its lovely paws.

The best GNR song, well there are 2 best ones. Like Metallica had 2 incredible songs, one and sandman, these were identical in the same way The Blues and Wlcm to the Jungle are.

Why i think these 2 songs in particular are the 2 best is bc both are groundbreaking . When jungle came out in 90-something we were all (rockers) segregated - One group was the hardcore metal group and then there were glam band folks (great bands tho like Bon Jovi and Motley Crue). Wlcm to the jungle was a new sound that you could listen to wout headbanging but rock out to like any speedmetal type band 2. They opened a new path in music.

Jungle transformed rock bc it was heavier than the heaviest metal sounds but so rock and roll that it was somthing you could understand. People listened and heared something more violent then they had ever experienced. Violent you ask? So fkn violent. Axl was raw and scary and revolutionized music bc it was uncensored rage and destruction - i lv the video bc i first saw it on headbangers ball at 1 am and was chilled to the bone, GNR scared the crap outta me, they werent nice boys and they broke every metal ediquette rule you could find, evil, thoughtful, explosive just shocked you. There was no insinc headbanging, gayass motorcycles on stage, and monotonous satanic lyrics. This song carried a social message too. That's the magic of their music, the lyrics and sound are perpendicular. Jungle is an essay on the degeneracy, and mindful violence of the urban jungles of today, written by farmboys who had envisioned the city as something beautiful and liberating, they found a jungle. This metal song, which it is, has a very deep message about the inhumanity of the city, there's a deeper message too but I wont go on.

When i first saw TheBlues I watched it over and over on YouTube and walked around a bit dazed for a while and went back and repeated. Well after a week of this, i started talking and thinking about this song that chilled me to the bone. This is a groundbreaking song and its sad how most people cant really understand it. I have a working understanding of psychoanalysis and know thatAxl s done his time in therapy and being the genius he is has brought to the world a song that is beautiful and mindblowing in its sincerity - it is a confession and i know why he did it.
This is much like the jungle in that its classic axl breaking all the ruls cause he hates rules and conformity. He refuses to be silent about anothr human issue, sexual abuse, and he also brilliantly narrates his thoughts and feelings as a survivor why. Wll, he is a social activist (for sexually abused children) and also he refuses to be silent, he is exposing this w all the media and money power he has. Chinese demc. is commendable projcet i think - Poor china, nobody fkn cares.
