Alright who saw this movie and understood it?

I saw it yesterday night and it really didn't seem like a Bond movie, no sinister bad guy with a place where he has his final battle with Bond and dies. The whole movie was him playing in a casino so thats why I don't understand this movie to well.

And how is this the best James Bond movie ever?

Well?

It was definitley different than all the other James Bond movies and they did spend a little to much time playing cards but I thought it was good Daniel Craig was bad ass
IT IS REALLY HAPPENING!

I saw it and thought that it was amazing, they wanted to reinvent bond and it worked.

Daniel Craig fits the character perfectly, he's got the charm to carry out the lines but it also looks like he could beat 7 shades of shit out of you if he needed to.

The old bond style films are ridiculous; camp bad guys, awful scripts, stupid gadgets, etc. This film was different and it needed to be. The last one 'die another day' was just woefull.

Compare the two films and casino royale wins hands down every time.

9.5/10 sunnyp stars.

i think, if they didnt change something, it would have worn out abit, the last two at least  i did only see cause i worked in a cinema...... i wouldnt have paid a dime to see them.....its become too prdictable.....also, i have read afew bond novels and i can only say, the casino royale one was cool, the whole gambling part and all.......in the book i think it was another game-baccara, not sure now.....but im glad its not the over the top bond i became weiry of.......im looking forward to seeing it, i really do. Also, im into poker.....the money doesnt make a good movie, so im glad they finally decided on a story that doesnt require too much of over the top gadgets.

Yea.

All in all it wasn't a Bond movie. They've Americanised it far too much.

I noticed that too, what happened to making fun of the CIA agents ? that used to be a standard.  now we get bond taking money from the CIA?  after i got home from the movie, me and a buddy watched goldeneye, just to remind us what real bond movies are supposed to be like.  that said, i still liked the movie.

Did have a sly dig at Felix's poker skills though.

True that the last half decent bond film before this was goldeneye.

not seen it. might go along as i've read a few very positive reviews.

still, it boils my blood that people are saying craig is as good as connery. nobody, absolutely nobody comes close to sean.
