since 1999, I cut my expetations in half.
back then I expected something that will be better than WTTJ, Estranged,... or stairway to heaven,....
but now,...
I hope it's on the level with average uyi songs.

what I've heard so far is nowhere close to being better than the best of the UYIs.
only songs that so far come close are TWAT/CITR.


I expect it to be a good album,
and I hope I like it better than "With Teeth" by nin, since that was the best album in 2000-2006 period.


nah, Permission to Land by The Darkness just rocks.

and Better is as good as most of UYI - easily.

You could be mine, Bad Obsession, Locomotive, or Nightrain or Paradise City...

Better simply isnt in the same league as those songs...

but then again, it does beat Garden of eden, and bad apples... :lol:

dont get me wrong,
I like better, but I just didnt imagine that after 10 years, song such as better would be the flagship of the Chinese Democracy...
it's disappointing.
so far, Only/The Hand that feeds by nin are somewhat better than better.

I know that we still havent heard the final mix, and crap like that, but you didnt need to hear the final mix of Welcome to the jungle to know that it's gonna be the biggest thing of the 80s...

I think we all worry a little bit about this.  It happened with the illusions making them sound "thin" with the kick drum a little "buried" and the vocals somewhat "light" in the mix.  I think you can produce the hell out of something and still avoid these things though.  Which brings the point that maybe it's not over-production that was/potentially could be the problem, but rather just "not-so good" production.  I mean listen to Better from the HD Black Sheep commercial.  The kick is solid, the vocals stand way out, it's a fucking bad ass mix.  

I'm pretty confident CD will meet our expectations in the mixing/production department. The actual songs may not meet the expectations of those expecting AFD or UYI, which is alright by me because that means it will be "different" and will, from what we've heard, meet my expectations.

my world is not even a song.. its an outro.. to finish the album.. and in silkworms the lyrics r crappy and makes the song look more like a limp bizkit trashy song..those kind of lyrics are for bands like limp bizkit.. or linkin park... or any of the jay z albums.. lol

my fear with Chinese Democracy... its this incredible delay... it only makes it worst to the band... because by the time the cd comes out we will all be tired of listen to madagascar and better and irs and the other songs that were leaked...

so the cd comes out and we'll listen a couple times because the songs have some different arrangements cause they're not demos or live anymore... but then since we've been listening to the new songs since 2001( the ones played live) and the leaked songs from 2006 and 99...
we're prolly be tired of the songs by then....

i mean... at least me... i used to listen to oh my god and madagascar and chinese democracy every single day... and now i only listen to those from time to time....

this delay only hurts the band and AXL...

it will rock. better is unbelievable even as a demo. i think it could be heavier than previous albums, better certainly sounds heavier. can't wait..... and the lyrics will be awesome too  :D
