Hey Guys:

Have you read this.  I dont agree with this asswipe

http://www.ohio.com/mld/ohio/entertainment/music/16073231.htm?source=rss&channel=ohio_living

Its so easy to trash down a person like AXL. But I wounder could this asswipe of MAlcom x Abram or whatever that fucking name is, say all that to Axl himself ...........face to face. ?????? Its so easy to fucking write in a damm newspaper,,,,,,,, what a bunch of crap. With that name (malcom) I bet hes a fucking motherfucker that thinks that Bon Jovi is hard rock. Also everybody is blaiming axl for spliting the band apart. But let me tell you, Slash , duff, and the suck of matt are not exactly angels you know.............................. Fucking retards!!!!!!!!! go fuckyourself and buy a U2 or bonjovi Album....... VR is having success cause is GUNS N ROSES playing with a fucking junkie!!!! I rather listen to AXL and a so called ¨Cover Band¨ than GUNS N ROSES WITHOUT THE VOICE THE MADE IT ALL for GUNS...........AXL ROSE.

What you guys think?

I think the same as I always do when reading the same old shit. I think the same old shit! Just release the fucking album and all this goes away, but until this happens, it will never end.

I really dont think that any of what was written can be disputed.

Just because somebody doesn't share the same enthusiasm for this band, it doesn't make them a cunt.

Hasn't changed my mind anyhow.

He didn't write anything that you should be upset about. He gave his opinion on the subject, without any insults or ofending words.

And even if it hurts

you have to admit

he is right in some matters.
You should make your tag line something to the effect of "Kov's realism, shattering idealism everywhere."

It wasnt a review, more of a preview, and alot of what he said is how people outside of us forum users feel.  He did take some stabs, but its his opinion.

sorry dude, most of what he said there was pretty true.  and thats what the world thinks, people here are the minority.
my friends that listen to lots of rock (including gnr) have the same opinion as this guy, and i really can't argue with them.  without the album out axl has yet to prove that he can do anything worthwhile without the rest of the band.  until then he's relying on past glories to sell tickets.

If any of us 100% loyal fans can say they are truly happy with the way that the band are behaving eg. no information, no press releases, no details at all, then please do flame this guy.

I actually respect people that are coming out and putting in the public domain what a lot of people (myself included) are thinking.

He's about right.

"Now not-so-new" tracks especially.  The "new songs" are things I first heard in 2001, the last tour was 2002.

That was almost 6 years since I first heard the Blues and almost 5 years since they toured.

That's a LONG time...

if people would put it in the public domain, then it may serve as a tad of promo.

some shitty site which only obsessive fans can find and read aint really "public" as such.

we can say shit about this guys review but it only reflects the outside opinion of general ppl. and some fans share some thoughts with that guy, because we've been hearing about the album being almost done since 2001, i guess even if Jesus was a GnR fan he would be upset with Axl.lol

This is the best fan site, especially since I just go banned at htgth for sarcastically calling jarmo A nazi, after he called his posters hard headed for responding negatively to his lame thread.  Btw I love his 3 week old news headlines on the main page.

How can you NOT take a stab at Axl Rose if you work in the media?  The guy has been promising the release of an album for OVER 10 years and went so far as to say earlier this year on live television at the MTV Video Music Awards that "it'll be out in the fall.  Probably late fall of THIS year."

Give me a fucking break!  The Ohio writer makes some strong points about the probable commercial success of CD.  It'll be a rock album, which, if you look at what is selling in the Billboard Top 200, isn't the number 1 selling music format from month to month.

Chinese Democracy has far eclipsed itself in anticipation what it can ever be as a completed album.  The songs that have leaked are good, but they aren't great.  "Better" doesn't hold a candle to tracks like "Welcome to the Jungle" and "Nightrain" and Axl knows it.  Most discerning fans that don't have their "I worship Axl Rose" goggles on know this too.  Yeah, yeah, yeah, Axl Rose may be the greatest frontman in rock history, but he hasn't put out an album in over a decade.  Since he left the scene this guy from Seattle named Eddie Vedder and his band have put out 8 studio albums, a compilation of rare material, assorted concert DVDs, and almost EVERY CONCERT for sale on their website since 2001.  Plus they released EVERY CONCERT from their 2000 tour to the general public in CD format.  AND THEY DON'T PLAY ALMOST THE SAME SETLIST EVERY FUCKIN NIGHT.

Axl Rose should take lessons from this Mr. Vedder on how to manage his own career and market his material to the general public.  Plus Mr. Vedder just seems to be a decent human being with his support of philanthropic ventures, such as the Surfriders Foundation and his band's commitment to lower their carbon dioxide emissions while on tour.

Don't get me wrong.  I love GNR.  Their music is raw and original.  But it's quite a downer that they can't seem to get their shit together enough to get some albums out by now with their current touring lineup.  It's not unreasonable to think that they could have put out three albums by now since the departure of Slash, Duff, Gilby, and Matt.  Maybe this really is just the Axl Rose Band with the revolving door of members where Rose is destined to attempt to revisit the glory days with the most excellent publicly nameless backing band the world has ever heard.

Well, he's got a little over a month to produce the new album for public consumption.  I'll wait eagerly until then.  If January 1 rolls around and no sign of new studio material, I will de sorely disappointed.

Let's look at both sides here. On Axl's/GnR's camp is where I and probably most of us on this Board fall in, and the bottom line is, Axl Rose is one of the most brilliant songwriters/performers/singers/lyricists in rock music and if he 'hears' this album in his head and wants to get it to be as perfect as possible, then i applaud his vision and he can have all the time in the world to record/release it - he doesn't even have to release it ever if he feels that the 'final' product is not up to his standards/vision. Of course we'll all be disappointed, but it's the artist's right to edit themselves and to even censor themselves if they feel the need to do so. Although I'm sure Axl enjoys money as much as anyone else I really don't get the feeling he is going to be overly concerned if he doesn't have a hit record - that was not what GnR was about in the beginning - his quote that he and Slash had wanted to take the band as far as it could go can have multiple meanings with a hit record being perhaps only one component. Importantly, it may not be possible to have a hit rock record in the current climate due to hip-hop and downloading.

Now, on the other hand, the journalist writing the column was putting forward his opinions and was giving a relatively balanced review of what facts there are (new line-up, leaked tracks, venue attendance, bitten guard, cancelled show in Maine, Rose apologizing and taking full responsibility for the cancelled show, people not using the restrooms when the new tracks were played, etc). At least he's paying attention to what's going on and getting the band in the news. Remember no publicity is worse than negative publicity. I just don't share his opinions.
