What about Doug Goldstein?
« on: December 16, 2006, 06:57:39 PM »
The guy did a fantastic job with the old band. He was  a very competent Manager and the band was heavily promoted in the rearly 90's. He has a part in the old GN'R commercial success, really, he knows Marketing, the old band was massive when he managed the old band. What about him?
I'd like him to be back as the GN'R Manager :)

he knows Axl, he knows how he works, he also knows most of the new guys, he knows his job, he knows Marketing and how to promote a band very well,  he prooved in the early 90's he was a great Manager... it's not about looking for the past, it's just about picking the right new mananger for the job.

here's a better question:

why does this need a thread?  can't it go in the Merck fired/open letter thread?

Re: the piece I've highlighted. Yes, it is about picking the right guy for the job, so let Axl do it?  Personally, I don't give a shit who it is!?

Yeah...I remember the awesome 2001 tour that he put together...damn that shit was hot...NOT, Doug was a moron, don't live with this whole "oh yeah, Doug was DA MAN, Merck sucks donkey cojones!" thing you got going, cause the thing is that Merck did a lot more than Doug ever tried to do for us. Damn these kids today.

I never said Merck sucked, stop saying bullshits about me, I never said that. I'm pretty neutral about the Merck vs Axl thing. I think both have valid points.

I wrote 2 e-mails to Merck a month ago, he replied me twice and he was nice. So stop saying I don't like him, this is completely untrue. It comes from your imagination, you are a liar.

I think it would be kwl if Axl was his and the band's own manager.  I know it's been mentioned before by someone....  do you think he's up to the job?  Because I don't know enough about these things to judge.
