The line up for the Glastonbury Festival this year is starting to come out. So far the Arctic Monkeys are playing, and Pete Townsend of The Who has let the cat out of the bag that they will also play.

However, Michael Eavis, the festival promoter, has said 'the biggest band in the world' are going to appear.

He went on to say it is NOT U2 or Coldplay. He has since also confirmed that it is NOT The Who that he was talking about.

So... what do you think? Could Axl be signing up? I would have thought Guns might be out of place there but if The Who are playing maybe they are going for a real rock presence...

Well....

The biggest band in the world is definitely NOT GN'R.

I wonder which band he is referring to.

maybe maybe, the two remaining people of the beatles, there ment to be doing a 1 off show in liverpool this year, maybe there doing glastonbury

I agree, much as I luv em they simply do not have the profile they did. Should CD actually drop soon that may change - Glasto is not til the summer..

Could be a personal favourite of Eavis' and he is biased?

I know REM are still sometimes coined 'the biggest band in the world' - could be them?

Red Hot Chilli Peppers or Foo Fighters are the sort of pop rock they would have there.

Guns n Roses would be very out of place. I would be very, very surprised if they were there.

Muse would be one posibility.

Iron Maiden is another...although when Bruce gave hints it seemed more to do with Donnington.

GNR? hmmm, I think it would be great!! Some people (not many) do call them the biggest band in the world, so hey- who knows?


It wouldnt surprise me though if they announced My Chemical Romance.
