Why not a double album

i don't think i'ld even want a double album. Theres probably enough material and all, but look at UYI. If it was first put out as a single album, with all the good songs

(Don't Cry, November Rain, Civil War, Locomative, Coma, Breakdown, Live and Let Die, KOHD, Estranged, Yesterdays, Dead Horse, 14 years, Don't Damn Me, You Could Be Mine, Pretty Tied Up... and maybe Patience, if they would of held off on Lies).

Thoses songs on one album could of done history over. So Axl probablly wants to put out the best product possible, so i don't see him spreading the good songs over two disc again, not that UYI I&II was a mistake, but there was more potential if they would of played there cards smart, and then put out the rest of the songs on like TSI I&II or something like that.

i think if i was gonna pick my faves from I and II, I would have left some of those off and included some of the others...my point being that in theory it would be good to pick the best and put them on one album but due to different taste, this is easier said than done.

also, in order to get a good mix of ballads/faster rock songs etc. two albums were needed.  who knows, maybe axl will be happy enough to release some of the songs already written on the next album or whenever, but right now i'd just like them to release something  ;)

^very good point, those of course are the ones i would of picked, some one else might like Right Next Door to hell or Double Talking Jive, but i see what you mean. But I believe that this new album will be more along the lines of more ballads and blues stuff then the other albums. So it would make since to put out two so we get everything.

I think we're all forgeting the fact that last january, Axl said in an intervies with Rolling Stone magazine, that they've written about 32 songs, and that 13 will be on Chinese Democracy, and the rest will be on two sequel albums, so we'll (hopefully) get Chin. Dem. this year, then another one next year, then another one the year after, as opposed to releasing them all in one set. I reckon this is probably better because it could give the current band more longevity and more time to do new stuff quickly, and it would have been better for them to have done that with the UYI albums- releasing them at different times, because we then wouldnt have to wait 16 years for a new studio album

I'd prefer 13 powerful, good songs to give the album more punch rather than a double/triple mish mash of all sorts of crap.

Axl was forced to do a double album before, I doubt he wants to do that again.
