I agree. But the question is, will all people use the Index thread?
My impression is, a lot of new members just scan the titles in the first page of a section and if they don't see something they need to talk about, then they start a thread of their own. There is already a double thread regarding one of the South Africa shows.
I think it would be nice if the Index thread is always on top (sorta like the Announcement option we had before) and all individual show threads stickied until the the day after the show.

this is better.  i'd say just delete any non-mod made tour threads (unless it's reviews, pictures, etc.) and keep the Index a sticky.  otherwise, when a HUGE tour is announced (soon), there's gonna be pages of stickies and it gets distracting and a bit annoying.
