you should all stop slating Finck, stop pointing out the flaws and listen to the fucking band.
Yeah we should do that with everything, stop pointing out flaws and just accept it.

Nah, I know what your saying, and when I see them live thats what I do, but in a disscussion about it as a guitar player I like to add my opinion on certain aspects, someone put a topic up on a members chops and I thought id add my commentary, sorry for having an opinion.

Check out Finck's solo from the 12.20.06 boot. That's the first time I realised how good he could be. Saw him live in the summer and his solo was painful however now he seems to of achieved the right balance between freewheeling and sloppy and tight and melodic.

Also he nails SCOM and The Blues for the most part now, unlike in 2002.

He fucking nailed The Blues at Rock In Rio 2001, tell me, have you heard that solo sound as good since? As for Sweet Child, he fucking owned that at Halifax.. His solo was absolutely fucking amazing... :wasted:

The blues is his so I hope he nails it, but scom, he still hits those screechy dog whistle notes.  Again I love finck, just pointin out some flaws that are obvious to me.

As I just said, get on YouTube and look up the Halifax show from the tour just gone, he fucking blows Slash away..

you're all saying he's bad because you're comparing him to slash as well.

slash is gone, and has been for 11 years.

I was at halifax as well as for nailing SCOM I'm sorry but finck did what I thought he was gonna do, Hold notes for way too long. BBF was trying to jazz up the simple 3 or 4 note solos as well. It's not even a matter of comparing to Slash as SCOM is a masterpiece that shouldn't be changed. It was wrote the way it was wrote leave it alone.

Sorry, I can not give Finck credit for nailing Mr. Brownstone.  I can only judge him on the new songs - how he creates them, and how he plays them.  So far, I'd say he is above average.  His melodies and solos are just okay.  I don't crank them on my stereo or anything.
Never lose hope: BRING BACK SLASH.

for me i could only judge him on the new songs, so thats IRS, madagascar, better and twat. For me i think he has done well, yea he may have been sloppy at the beggining of the tour, but what do you expect, he hadn't played live in a while, but i have to say finck is doing great and his songwriting abilities are well used in gnr i would imagine, look at Betterk, thats the best song i have heard in years, well written and that melodic solo at the end is simply amazing.

Calm down, children.  It's f*ckin' GnR and Robin's a member.  He's been an influence for Axl since NIN (yeah, I typed it! Axl even wore a NIN shirt in the Illusions booklet).  How hard do you think Axl parties before/ after(a lot!) a show!?  It ain't easy to survive in Rock and Roll and Robin's a veteran. Robin Fink is a good ol' boy who made it big.  Very big.  I'm from the south, too, we drink a lot down here.  Nice post, good to see y’all get away from the “When’s the album…” B-S.
How long did he exercise, to come up with this?   YEARS!!!   Given that much time (and MONEY), I'd deliver you a Solo played with all 8 Fingers, while doing a Front-Loop + Spiral and I don't know what MORE ...  :ninja:
Hillarious!  But y'all are right, Slash wrote that...He was buzzed on stage all the time, too.

White-Rider, are you a pissed-off teenager?  It made me laugh and I thought your comment was worth quoting, a'ight.  I'm a grown man with a collegiate education who'd tear you apart if you said that to me in real life.  It's comments like yours that give people on sites like this (and post sites in general) such bad reps.  Calm  :smoking: down.

This was in my inbox yesterday, again by 'leaked' by this trojanleaker.
He says it's the studio version of the Robin solo in the blues. He also says they replaced the drumloops with Frank's work and you can hear Pittman, here's the link.

As for the mods, don't need to remove it, you guys also know there aint no studio version of The Blues.

No need to re-open a Robin bashing thread.
The people who bash him are no fans of the new band. If they were, they'd realize the importnace of Robin to this project in the last 10 years and the fact that maybe he was instrumental in keeping it going all these years. A lot of former band members chose to walk away - causing more and more delays with the album release, tours, etc. Robin did not. For the last 10 years, the only break he took from it was a year and a half in 1999-2000 to tour with NIN for a last time.
