To close the debate about the Chinese Democracy sales

A few facts some people who think the album won't sell well should know:

1) The Greatest Hits sold around 7 million copies, it is still in the Charts, it's been 3x platinium in the US... and counting.
2) The Greatest Hits sold 1 million copies in the UK alone. It was the first #1 GN'R album since 1991.
3) The Greatest Hits went to #1 in the charts in many countries, for many weeks.
4) The Greatest Hits toppped the Charts on 4 continents: America - Europe, South America, Asia
5) The Greatest Hits was the 9th best selling album in the world in 2004.
5) The Greatest Hits was the best Rock selling album in 2004/2005 in the world.
6) The Greatest Hits sold more than "Encore" by Eminem in the world

----> The Greatest Hits was released with just a little promotion. There was no single, no video, no tour back in 2004. Just the word of mouth.

Now, do you still really think chinese Democracy, with promotion + singles + videos + a Tour will have poor sales? Come on...

Reasons to Questions C.D.'s Selling ability

1) None of the old guys, which is what most people percieve GNR as.

2) Bad press from critic's (those pricks)

3) Downloading (Im sure alot of my friends will download it, but i doubt many will actually pick it up)

4) might not come out for anopther xx years

5) the VR album might b amazing (doubt it)

6) The record compaany tries to sell the cd for 3 times the price of a cd to make up for lost wages. (though would never happen)

7) it might suck  (more likely to not hapen as i've liked most leaks so far, but the public might see it differently)

8) Emo might kill Guns n Roses, ( if it does i'll make those Emotional faggs wish they actually commited suicide rather than writing a poem about it)

There is no one more emotional than Axl. So I believe those emo kids would love it. MCR's Black Parade has some songs that have that Axl / Queen feel about them.

If you dont understand it what I am saying, well... a was going to chew you a new asshole. But I realize that you might not be on the same level as me and I will simpleton it. Emo kids like emotion. Axl puts emotion into his songs. Put those two together with an already solid fan base and you have a highly successful album.

The only people that Axl aint going to please are the critics,
even if the music is the best rock we have heard since appetite, It wont mean shit, because critics have  a predetermined  mindset of how the songs will sound, regardless of how good they are, because they think gnr without slash is not gnr,
thats the sad reality, but hopefully axl doesn't look at what the critics say ,but at how audiences respond to it at shows, as a good gauge on how good the songs actually are.

Randy H, nothing against you , but emo kids most probably wont like the chinese democracy music ,NOT BECAUSE OF THE LYRICS,  even though if axl's lyrics are the most emotional ones hes written, but because it doesnt have the classic drown emo tunes behind it.

Eg , look at simple plan, thats basically emo, theres no heavy drums, no guitar solos, nothing, regardless of lyrics,
emos dont like rock, even if its korny emo lyrics,

well what weve heard so far, its so far opposite emo music it isnt funny

(except for the first and last verse of better "no one ever" , but thats necessary to start the song, cause the "the hardest part" at the start just sounds shit starting it that way,
