Just got back from the show.....you seen the lineup for taxi's?

Some thoughts....

Axl was the best. His voice is in perfect condition.

The rest of the band suck. Sorry to say it. And i'm no new fan. I'm a huge gunners fan from when i was a kid and i was one of the few singing the words to the new songs in the crowd.

The band has no stage presence, no charisma. It's Axl who is a fucking god....and a fill in cover band. I saw Velvet Revolver when they came a few years back. I hate Scott. The rest of the band have so much fucking stage presence though. Duff and Slash own it. Sadly with Gunners now it's just Axl. Sad but true. I tried to deny if for years and now i have finally seen for myself with my own eyes i'm dissappointed. Get someone.....even Traci Guns to join the band. You don't need 3 guitarists. Fink is some fucking homeless person in a mental facility. What the hell was he wearing? An apron? They all can play.....they are just nobody.

But God was Axl good tonight.

BBF is more active than Axl, Robin is like a madman on stage, so wtf is your problem.

I didn't bother with Rose Tattoo as I thought id see them at one of the Melbourne shows. Sebastian Bach was a riot and was on stage till about 10:15. He was marking out that a dude had a 'youth gone wild' tatt like he does.

Gnr hit the stage at 11 so it was a 45 minute or so wait between which didn't seem that long when you consider the lines to take a piss were huge.

The intro music is cool and the way Robin Fink bounces the intro to Jungle is a great innovation.

The crowd went nuts when Axl went into WTTJ and man his voice was killer.
With all due respect to the fine people of Adelaide it really was bogan central and they were way into the songs off AFD so they were in for a treat with an appetite heavy set list.

The new band worked really well together and the crowd didn't seem to miss the original members at all once they were on stage which I guess shows that Axl has assembled the right line up.

I really like the slowed down 'Knockin On Heavens Door' and its good that unlike the early 2001 shows he has added the sing-a-long component to it.
Also Live and Let Die showed Axl's scream hasn't gone away.

There were a few solo's but the crowd didn't seem to get too restless. It was great that enough of the crowd caught on that Bumblefoot was playing 'Dont Cry' and sang along.

The new songs really are great and were the highlights of the night for me.
I have always thought 'Better' was hit and miss live but it was hit in Adelaide. 'IRS' is a great rocker. Since 'The Blues' leaked I have really found a new appreciation for it and its close to my fave of all the new songs so it sent chills to hear it live.

The crowd really loved November Rain and I smiled when remembering I always thought that song was Axl's biggest pussy magnet and then looked around at a heap of chicks gazing at the stage with loving eyes lol

I didn't really know Bubbles from the Trailer Park Boys but he looked hilarious and 'Liquor and Whores' is a funny song. It was great to see Axl enjoying himself while singing back up vocals on it.

Axl's mood throughout the night really made the night as he really seemed to be enjoying himself. He was a little hard to hear when talking. I do know that he was making a comment about how people claim this is nothing more than a 'glorified cover band' but I couldn't make it out so if anyone could please let me know what was said exactly.

I don't think Axl's power-rock whistle gets enough credit and neither does 'Patience' which had the crowd singing along to every word.

'Nightrain' is a song that I have heard so many times that it sometimes gets skipped when playing AFD but Axl screamed appreciation right back into me.

I was kinda bummed at this point as I knew the end was near and in Perth I had read they only played Paradise City in the Encore.
Then some Chinese images flashed on the screen and the sounds of Chinese people in a theatre echoed throught the arena and then the heavy hittin intro to 'Chinese Democracy' boomed through the speakers. What a great fucking song! Im sure my reaction to getting to hear it live was gay but can you blame me??? lol
Then they followed up with Madagascar which is an epic song. I thought it sounded a little off but still no complaints as that aside its one of my faves.

Paradise City is such a spectacle that you realize how lucky you are that Axl has kept this going and that you have truly seen one hell of a rock n roll show...it also confirmed that bands suck as Nickleback and Hinder are nothing more than a bunch of faggots and King Axl is making his return to reclaim his crown.

Axl and the band then said good bye and Axl lead the crowd into the classic 'Aussie,Aussie,Aussie' chant.

After 2 and a half hours it was over and my dream of seeing GnR live had been fulfilled and I felt relieved I had flown to Adelaide for the trip as I now had two more shows to take in with home town advantage!
