I know not much makes sense with GNR these days but I have been thinking about this quote that is posted on this site:

If they are going to play the entire Chinese Democracy set for Australia and New Zealand wouldn't the album need to be released before they play?  I mean sure they could play the set without releasing the album but if the album isn't released and they play the whole set you can imagine the leaks that will come out and I'm sure GNR doesn't want that to happen.  Plus, if no one is familiar with the songs they are playing the concerts won't be as successful.  I know speculation is getting beyond old on the GNR forums and I hate to add another one but that quote just got me thinking.

And now that I can actually comprehend it (lol) I can comment. Yeah it would make alot of sence, but then again, so would releasing the album a while back...not that I'm being another little bitch on the forum by saying it, i just dont think rational thinking pressures anyone at the GnR camp. I can't wait for that though to be honest!

"New material" probably means The Blues, CD, Madagascar, Better, IRS and maybe TWAT. Seems like this guy just wanted to ensure that these shows are going to be as good as all the others, with new songs and "the whole enchilada". Sorry, no reason to be excited...

This means that the other shows, in my opinion, are just going to be scaled down to a GNR LOGO banner -- for the sake of simplicity and MONEY.

What it means is this...
the concert will be a full show like most shows we got in 2006. It will NOT be an acoustic show or a small one like the  one where Axl got into a fight with T. Hilfiger or the fashion show.

Seriously, we need to stop looking for special meaning that just is not there in anything said about the band.

He might have played for 2 1/2 hours but not all the shows were successful by GNR standards.  In Portland, Oregon they didn't even fill half the stadium up.  Some dates were sold out but most weren't.  Other bands might be fine with that kind of tour but not GNR.

Remember they started the illusion tours before the actual albums came out....They ended up playing most of the songs on the albums live before it was released.  I hope it gets here sooner just as much as anybody but who really knows.....

yea but they illusion albums actually came out on time, so people didnt just hear the songs 2 or 3 years before and get tired of them they heard them like a couple months before so its different
