I didn‚t realized until.....
« on: April 12, 2007, 08:17:36 PM »
So I came from work, I walk into my home, I play the Guns n Roses Invade Paris concert DVD on, this is the 8th time I watch it, Im 31, and sitting down watching the concert again, I realize that how special the old band was, the magic they had, was unique and maybe we the fans didnt realize that until they broke up.....and althougth I like the new band, and admire Axl passion for keeping rocking and keep somehow the great memories alive, I finish to watch GNR Paris, then I play GNR at the ritz,,,,fuck....that bring back a lot of my own memories at that time...

So what is the best good memory from GNR that you keep all this years? When you hear a GNR song do you go back in time to a part of your life good or bad?   Cause everytime I hear NR , I rembember my ex, and all what happend that time and also I remember how good was the late 80Âs and the 90Âs in terms of music.

I (for example) am watching Ritz - 1988 almost every day.
I love to get the new cd in my hands but i have still the feeling that
nothing can compares to the old good rock (the guns n' roses of the glory days.)
By the why you're a kid  :), I'm 40  :D

GNR will always be great! They rocked hard at the Palace in 2006 Michigan but I have the ''88 Ritz show and i have to tell you WOW! They were the greatest live band of all time, i have never seen so much pure, raw energy and attitude on any concert or clip from any band like GNR at Ritz, the chemistry was amazing! and Axl was just sooo powerful!

Even though I was born in '92 (yeah now IM a baby haha) I was old enough to remember that Duff and Slash and everyone left the band, but I never heard about it.
I kinda remember watching GNFNR in 2002 VMA'S, but I think I changed the channel
(AH)
But I kinda wish I lived later like was born in 76 or something
Cuz a LOT of good music was back then
But, whatever
I have no memories rele,
But i loved seeing them in 2006 in Oakland!!!

Ritz was a great show, as was Paris...I remember watching it live on pay-per-view.  I had a couple friends who were huge GN'R fans sleep over...can't even remember....8th grade maybe? Long ass time ago.

i've never figured out everyone's infatuation with the Ritz show.  the UYI stuff was a lot better.  RIR II is probably my favorite old GN'R show.

Axls voice sucked in RIR 2, but it was the first times the new songs were played, and the energy was amazing.

The Ritz show is like the first disc of the Led Zepplin double disc DVD...it may not be their best material but it captures the "it" factor...the raw energy that made them the huge success that they are better than any other performance.  (At least any released to date)  Not to mention also like the Zep dvd, it's also (during the time period, if not that particular performance) when Axl's voice was at it's best, IMO.

And besides, calling UYI better than Appetite, isn't that blasphemy?    :D

That ritz show was almost perfect. I love everything GNR has ever done but they were just sooooooo stripped down when they played that show. No piano, no back up singers, just five dirty, gritty ass motherfuckers tearing the roof off the joint. One of those rare moments in rock that I would have loved to have been a part of.
Guns+Queen+Led Zeppelin= Chinese Democracy

Arguably the greatest Guns N' Roses Album

My revenge carved deep will be
A grisly plot that reads
Like my filthy white ward spattered with their screams
When My Deviliverers come from fog for me...

you're completely right! the ritz 88 show is amazing! nothing can touch gnr's "appetite for destruction" line up!
and by the way, on the ritz video you can see what a great rhythm section duff and steven have been! just for the people who think adler was shit! this line up with all 5 of them was the best they ever had!

RIR 2 was a very rusty performance.

Wembley 1992 and Argentina 1992 and 1993 are great performances.

Of course Paris 1992. The rant before Double Talkin Jive is pure magic
