Law Abiding Citizen - 8/10

Really enjoyable movie.

Ending was a bit of a dissapointment though.

I wanted Butler's character to prevail over Foxx's, so that's why i was dissapointed.

I completely agree. Foxx was clearly the bad guy in this movie. I was hoping for an exploding cello at the end.

Bad guys.... boooooh!

Law abiding citizen gets a 8.5/10 from me.

The best films I've seen this year: Up, Mary and Max and Moon.

i agree but the way it ended was more impactful i feel. though Foxx, as sunnyp says, was defo the bad guy - in a weird sense.

Just watched Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I haven't really read any of the books but, unfortunately, the entire series was spoiled to me by my friends. I enjoyed the film none the less. Despite knowing what was coming, I was entertained. It started off with a bit of darkness, then a whole romance drama thing, with a few bits of darkness spotted throughout, then an even darker ending. Can't wait for the next two movies. If I heard correctly they are making the last book into two movies.

Next up, James Cameron's Avatar!!! Just over a week away!!

Avatar possibly a flop? I find current 3d technology really poor, takes you out of the film if anything, as how can you forget youa re in the cinema and feel more a part of the film. Often ive noticed 3d is used simply by poorly animated, poorly scripted dreamworks productions.  saw law abiding citizen and ive got to say it was terribly predicting and a poor script. Ps i do have something good to say as Harry potter always has great cinematic effect.

The cinematics in Harry Potter were absolutely brilliant!! It should definately get nominated at the oscars for it. It just looked beautiful and majestic, very well done! I can't wait for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure. I live in florida so I am definately going when it opens. haha.

But I don't think Avatar will be a flop. This movie also comes in Non 3-D. One of my friends saw that 15 minute of clips in 3-D on an Imax screen back on "Avatar Day" and said it was amazing. He said that the CG was amazing, and the 3-D really accentuated it on the Imax screen. But that's his word. Knowing James Cameron, he wouldn't put it out if it were bad. This is something he has been waiting for 14 years to do and I don't think he would settle for anything less than perfection.

The reason I have faith in it personally, is because it is James Cameron, and it is Sam Worthington. I liked him in Terminator Salvation, and personally felt that he had alot of potential. Sigourny Weaver and Michelle Rodriguez as well. Its got a good cast, a great director, and some pretty darn great CG.

I think that people are going to go and watch this for the CG because it is supposed to "Change movies forever" and be shocked by a truely great story. But who knows. only one week left!!

Watched Live Free Or Die Hard today for like the 50th time this week. Love that movie. Some useless scenes, but it's a great Action movie. What can I say, Bruce Willis is awesome.

Now watching Spiderman 3. Not as bad as I thought it was when I originally saw it in theatres. The acting, well, Tobey isn't the best actor. (But I did hear he was amazing in Brothers and that the 'love triangle' wasn't actually the focus of the film, rather than how a soldier and his family has to live with returning from Iraq) The whole Emo bit of the film, which thanks to commercials, wasn't as long as it felt in the theatres. Not only that but I'm not as dissapointed in Venom.

They really rushed the story lines along, and had little to no character developement, but I enjoyed it much more on TV than I did in the theatre.

Anyone have reccomendations for a good movie?

I really hope he wouldnt put out anything bad (james cameron) just even though he says he waited for the technology to be avaliable it still seems as though it isnt up to good enough standards yet he is an awesome director so if its like his past films should be good.

Some good films to watch not sure what you have seen before but these are just some films in general ive seen recently or think everyone should watch
Pulp fiction, one hour photo (particularly amazing performance from robin williams in a non comedic role), reservoir dogs, office space, spirited away, donnie darko, teeth (not the best plot yet adventourous), about schmidt, north by northwest, dial m for murder, psycho, vertigo, rear window, subject two, ghost world, inglorious basterds, any kubrick film, also if you havent seen this yet a brilliant documentary called man on wire.

Just seen Avatar in 3D.

The visuals were fantastic. One of the best cinema experiences ive had. The plot was decent, but not great.

Oh and i kinda have a crush on the main blue chick.....as does everyone it seems.

9/10

saw Paranormal Activity. didnt live up to the hype for, and found The Fourth Kind to be much scarier (had more jumpy moments). Decent though.
