Moons... That's good news. Allow 10 minutes quiet time after the film, so don't rush off anywhere. Actually, if I big it up, you'll probably be disappointed...... It's not that special, just some blokes on a film. That's all.

Oh yeah, Gran Torino is superb: 9/10

As The Lovely Bones is undoubtedly the shittest book ever to have been published, and manages to combine sickening schmalziness with a kinda worrying tacit approval (approval isn't actually the correct word hear, but my vocab's not working very well tonight, acceptance isn't quite what i'm looking for either) of rape and adultery in one package for teenage girls to swoon over (although I hear the sex bits might have been taken out of the film version) I shall not be setting foot within several hundred metres of anywhere showing it as I've already decided in my own mind that there's no way it can be anything other than fucking awful.

Haha, wow.  I'm on fire today...

Seriously, I have no idea how non-native English speakers manage to post coherently, or speak coherently to us, I've gone like 2 months of not really speaking English that often (although still probably using it at some point every day) and my ability to use the language properly is disintegrating before my eyes.

I'm going to be completely illiterate, with the speaking ability of a 3 year old when I go back to the UK.

The Lovely Bones was alright. Certain parts were visually engrossing, but I was hoping Jackson was can it the
moment it was announced. With the poor reviews and performance it's being rushed out of theatres for damage control. Sad.
Also he needs to get some new writing partners or at least take a break from his wife and Phillipa.

I'm pumped/anxious about Shutter Island. It looks really unique and a ballsy movie for Scorsese to take on, so hopefully that risk pays off.
Most of his best movies aren't the real flashy ones and this one looks particularly flashy so I'm kinda worried about that.

There's really no movie I'm that amped about. A bunch of remakes and other wankery. The best thing that could happen is a bunch of the
studio heads getting murdered so we can get back to real artistry in cinema. But then again, like everything in this country, it's just a cheap knockoff
of what has been going on in Europe for centuries.

Shutter Island looks fantastic. Plenty of Hitchcock's styles and references too apparently. Awesome. Hitchcock is still my favouriite director of all time.

Shutter island sounds very promising. I hope it is as good visually as the story/book is. I believe with scorcese there shouldnt be too much doubt.  More hitchcock homage's would be good as they are such brilliant films due to the nature of his style they have to adopt.
For example has anyone seen high anxiety by mel brooks, a piss take on hitchcock blockbuster containing the tension and references to so many films. Especially love the lady in the mental home who is so similar to the maid in rebecca. Its so good to watch and really enjoyable i would recommend to anyone who hasnt seen.

Awesome. I love Mel Brooks and Hitchcock, so I'll definitely check that one out. Thanks.

No worries please let me know what you think. Whats your favourite hitchcock films? Do you like any of the early films like before rebecca?

Just watched "across the hall". I think it must have been Britney Murphy's last film. I thought it was actually really good. It relied on keeping me fixed for 90 minutes by having a very clever storyline. No CGI, no nonsense, just a great plot.
