Yeah tthat was the thing i found weird about hurt locker too. The fact they asked british to go in with them in real life yet in film portraying as saving us in any situation seems silly. Also its kinda short on realism at times even though took a lot of effort to film it in middle east.

I finally saw Avatar on Wednesday.  Looks pretty, acting is awful, storyline is contrived, dialogue was cheesy, I know i already mentioned the bad acting, but I think Sam Worthington deserves a special mention for being really super terrible.  But the CGI work was so incredible that I actually would have enjoyed it had it been about 45 minutes shorter.

And I saw A Single Man last week.  It was better, also tended towards melodrama at times, and far to much pathetic fallacy going on with the weather, but beautifully shot, nicely scripted, fantastically acted (except, surprisingly, Julianne Moore, who was kinda a let down for me this time)

first recommendation for what to watch tonight wins - wins what, i do not know, but if you really must have something...well...i guess tecniqually you've won control of my viewing tonight.

a few slight caveats, if thats the word i really want, i'd prefer something i've not seen - not that you know what i've seen, just dont feel bad if i turn it down, and i also have the right to knock back anything i tihnk will be shite.

with that, assembled hoards of cd.com, go forth and recommend!!

Donkey porn!

No seriously, if you watch one film, watch 'Mary and Max'. It's an animated film like Wallace and Grommit, except it's dark, funny, beautiful, everything. My most unexpectedly favourite film to stumble across in the last year.

Head down to your local cinema, sure, but DO NOT see Shutter Island.

What a piece of shit. Predictable, lifeless waste of my time.

I enjoyed Shutter Island personally. I guess it comes down to personal taste.

Fight Club. Not sure if you've seen it. Silence Of The Lambs is a classic. The Prestige was fantastic. And if you liked the show Firefly you may like the movie Serenity, it takes off where the series ended.

Catch Me If You Can, The Talented Mr. Ripley, The Green Mile (not to be confused with The Green Zone), Full Metal Jacket, Blade Runner, I watched Children Of Men on TV today and liked that. You can go Hitchcock and watch Psycho or Strangers on a Train.

Just watched George Romero's "Survival Of The Dead". Great movie, probably his best zombie flick since Dawn Of The Dead.
